Diana Montagna, a highly respected and very well connected journalist accredited to the Holy See, revealed at the recent Remnant "Catholic Identity Conference, 2026" that the Archdiocese of Toronto intends to completely supress the traditional Roman Rite Mass.
From what Montagna presented in her talk, the initiative to suppress the Liturgy comes from the local bishop who is of one mind with that of Cardinal Roche and his immediate underling, Archbishop Viola (noted by Montagna to be an even more virulent enemy of the traditional Liturgy than Roche). As such, it is Cardinal Francis Leo who is proactively approaching Roche, not the Romans proactively coming to Leo.
