Fr. Timothy Scott., C.S.B. should resign for the sake of priestly dignity

"Most sublime, then, Venerable Brethren, is the dignity of the priesthood"

On the Catholic Priesthood, Pius XI

Fr. Timothy Scott C.S.B on February 7th, tweeted an obscenity against His Eminence Raymond Cardinal Burke. Fr. Scott C.S.B., has since apologized for this obscenity.

However, Fr. Scott, C.S.B.,  is the Media spokesman for the Basilian Order and Executive Director of the Canadian Religious Conference.

Is it enough for a priest, and a priest holding important positions, to issue just an apology?  No, he should resign.

The Superior General of the Basilians  is
Fr. George Terence Smith CSB
95 St. Joseph Street, Toronto, ON M5S 3C2

Seedy, obscene language has no place on the tongue of anyone addressing a Priest, be he Cardinal, Bishop, Priest or Pope. Totally uncalled for, for any reason by anyone. Perhaps having mastered usage, spelling, meaning of the entire Webster's dictionary would call for an ever-so-slight dispensation for a slip of the tongue. Obvious ignorance is no excuse, ever.

This man was Superior of the Congregation of St. Basil, correct? Is this not the same house in Toronto where Father Tom Rosica lives-- in community?

What is wrong with the once great Baslian Congregation?

Does anyone need more proof that the Church is infested? How could a vile man like this become ordained unless seminaries and chanceries everywhere were polluted with people like him?

Yes, this sad priest has lots to atone for. Imagine actually wanting a wonderful Shepherd like Cardinal Burke to shut up? One thing is clear, these liberal, dissenters are listening to Burke - they know what he is teaching us....they may want to think of what they will say to Our Lord at their particular judgment. For now they seem to be riding high. But oh how they will fall in the end if they don't come to their senses.

An example of the very poor caliber of too many in the priesthood.

Good Christians dont forgive liberals....right?
He lost it and apologized. Nuf sed.

Aristotle says that rebellion begins with an embrace of a personal moral defect.

The intensity of the rebellion against Church moral teaching alone is not enough for the prurient Left. Sol Alinsky said that the attack is much more effective when aimed at an individual, a bete noir.

Thus their selection of Cardinal Burke, who represents everything the rebel is rebelling against.

Add to that the vulgarity and we see the modus operandi of the most vulgar and vile political/social/cultural movement today - the virulently grotesque gay lobby.

The good Father might have no such inclination; he may not even realize the origin of his invective style, but he should recognize that he is borrowing rhetorical tactics from the sleaziest of demons (viz. Catherine of Siena's Dialogues on Sodomy).

I think it's more like liberals make poor Christians. For a priest to blog using the language he did to a prelate of the Church is not something so easily forgiven. He should be stripped of his titles. Nuf sed.

"No, he should resign."

I'm afraid that's not enough, either.

Utterly shameful and perfectly indicative of the vulgarity of modernism and its peddlers. The Novus Ordo Church is desperate to maintain their stranglehold on Holy Mother Church. Pathetic.

No, it revealed a part of him that renders him unsuitable for the priesthood. Nuff said now.

A deeper proof is required... Would you publicly flog yourself as the devotees of the Black Nazarene? (No, I guess self-flaggelation is unaacceptable in your Parish and country, right?) How about living for 2 years in seclusion without internet or a mobilephone or any form of communication in the deepest niches of the catacombs of the Vatican... be a recluse with the vow of SILENCE? (NO?! I guess your tongue is your weakness, right, Fr.?) How about this, you cut off your tongue in order to be found "worthy of heaven"? (Better enter the Kingdom of God without a tongue - instead of a hand or eye - than to burn in Hell, right, Father? Still unacceptable?)

Well, I guess you'd have to resign then... tsk, tsk, tsk...

As far as Fr. Scott's apology is concerned; we have to remember Our Lord's own words; "Let those without sin be the first to cast the stone". He shouldn't be cast from the priesthood if he's indeed repented, but, he shouldn't be left in the office as spokesman for the order.
One really has to wonder what this religious order is up to though. Their spokesman, Fr. Scott, sends a Tweet with an obscenity to Cardinal Burke; one who stands up for the faith and Fr. Rosica; threatens to sue a Catholic blogger who also stands up for the faith.
It does make one ponder some very serious questions.
As Michael Voris stated, the legal firm that Fr. Rosica hired in Toronto has a heafty retaining fee. If Fr. Rosica has taken a vow of poverty, where on earth is he getting THAT kind of money? Who's bankrolling this?
Are they trying to control the narrative leading up to the Synod on the Family?
Both very valid questions to ponder indeed.

To the anonymous Catholic convert of Bellville:
I to am in Belleville, praying in our chapel for God's solutions.

To why we Catholics are eating up our own.

Pondering why our leadership, especially the Canadian Bishops, don't stop this and other nonsense and continue to pander to the same modernist secular influences that have progressively weakened the Church and Her influence for years.

Welcome to the Faith, but be prepared for the need for a lot of prayer in and for Mother Church.

Well it took awhile and in a much smaller font but hopefully the good Father will reflect through Lent and realize that as a liberal he is placing more importance on his political ideology than on the teachings of Jesus.

Fr. T. Scott -how will you explain your vulgar words towards Bishop Burke when you find yourself in presence of God one day ?
