The Pope's LAST gesture of the year was to CANCEL a visit to St. Peter's Nativity Scene.

For his last gesture of the year, Pope Francis "cancelled" his visit to the Nativity Scene in St. Peter's under the official pretext of "dis-encouraging crowds".

However, he did NOT "cancel" the Vatican's collaboration with the World Economic Forum. The following address by Cardinal Turkson, reading the very words of Pope Francis, reflects the absolute devotion to, and promotion of the MASDU. You will notice that NOT once does the Pope mention the Holy Name of Jesus. Even his  opaque reference to "God" is in the context of this "god"(?) "blessing" the work of the WEF.

In truth, this speech is a hymn to the spiritual animation of universal democracy, as predicted by the Abbe de Nantes, a man-centred ideology that is intrinsically opposed to anything Christian.

By the way, the WEF is fanatically pro-abortion. Crickets from Rome.

May St. Thomas Beckett inspire cowardly bishops to stop being lackeys of the godless State

St. Thomas Beckett, contrary to propaganda, did NOT die for "religious liberty". That extremely dangerous and blasphemous idea, where all religions are equal and not very important, the State neutral in matters religious, appeared hundreds of years later in the writings of Freemasons, in which this idea is the cornerstone of their counter-church. Liberty is "a power perfecting man" (Libertas, Leo XIII), and what is not true, no man has a right to, let alone to propagate it in public. Paradoxically, "religious liberty" where established becomes the de facto State religion (leading to disintegration and societal collapse). St. Thomas Beckett, unlike today's modern bishops, had a firm grasp on the rights of Christ the King and His Church over the State. Unlike today's bishops, St. Thomas was aware, and acted accordingly, when the State (even wayward Catholics, such as the King) attempted to interfere with the rights of the Church.

One can imagine St. Thomas' horrified reaction to the modern bishop's never ending surrender to State control over the local church. Or the modern bishop's near deafening silence over State glorification and promotion of pre-natal infanticide, the murder of the elderly, and the glorification of sexual immorality (even to the point of profaning marriage, and denying human sexuality). St. Thomas would not have been surprised that such cowardly and wayward bishops would lock Catholics out of their churches and join the authoritarian, neo-pagan State, even joyfully taking its money (for a price of course).

Let us now jump forward from the 12th century to the 21st.

In 2020, for example, the Catholic Church in Canada became the Catholic Church OF Canada; in essence the "spiritual animator" for the new "humanism". We should not be surprised with the ease of their capitulation. In fact, they had already been for decades flirting, even copulating with the State.

The late, saintly Abbe de Nantes (persecuted by the Roman churchmen) called this lust for the new "humanism" the "MASDU":" MOVEMENT FOR THE SPIRITUAL ANIMATION OF WORLD DEMOCRACY, MASDU (Mouvement d’Animation Spirituelle de la Démocratie Universelle). He outlined this politico-spiritual utopia from its origins in the compromisers with masonic revolution, Lamennais and Sangier; to be developed by Jacques Maritain in his "Integral Humanism" (inspired by American so-called "religious liberty"). In essence, since 1776 and 1789, the vast majority of churchmen have concluded that masonic principles are the winners,  and that Catholics should join the winners' side. Thus a never ending stream of compromises and betrayals (Americanism, Canadianism, Modernism, nouvelle theologie etc.). Thus Gregory XVI's Mirari Vos is an outrage of anti-liberalism, Pius IX's Quanta Cura, The Syllabus have to be buried or "reinterpreted", Leo XIII's Libertas, Immortale Dei, and Humanum Genus are the rantings of a deluded old man. And so on. Need I mention that Pius XI's Quas Primas was dead off the printing press? But these holy popes were doing nothing but preaching the Gospel; nothing but informing us that (as Pius XI noted) social modernism was as dangerous and perverse as doctrinal modernism. In fact, they are evil twins.

With this in mind, and realizing that virtually every bishops alive either rejects or "reinterprets" the above mentioned unchangeable Catholic teachings, let us see what the main points of the MASDU are, so as to understand the mindset of bishops who would so easily betray the Church into the hands of "sinful men"  (Matt 26:45).

 The Abbe de Nantes wrote:

This system can be broken down into three parts, to which there is to be added one important corollary:

1° - It is not simply the Church and Christendom which form the “ unit of Salvation ”, but mankind as a whole.

2° - The new Gospel of this community is the Declaration of the Rights of Man, with its trilogy of Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity.

3° - The building of a World Democracy is the analogy here on earth of the Kingdom of God, and it is to be attained through the coming of Justice and Peace, in Truth and Love.

And the Corollary: that the function of Religion – by which is to be understood a union of all the existing religions – is to provide inspiration and Spiritual Animation for mankind thus regenerated.

Is the above not the "Gospel" of Pope Francis, Cardinal Cupich et al; bringing decades of sliding and compromise to a logical conclusion? When you understand that their minds are seeped in the "humanism" of the MASDU, you immediately understand why they demand the Sacraments have to go.

Thus you can understand why churchmen so readily surrendered to the State, boarded up their churches, crushed the faithful, denied Extreme Unction, pushed the experimental drugs, took the State money; even went beyond the pagan secular Authorities in their eagerness to lock us out of OUR churches! Simply, they were trying to show the world that they too had the "cult of man". They were manifesting their readiness to called upon by the globalist elite as the local "spiritual animator for universal democracy."

For a complete exposition of the MASDU, please see here. And do not forget to offer a prayer for the soul of the saintly Abbe.

Happy Feast Day dear friends, let us make merry that St. Thomas is in Heaven. And let us, like him, never contemplate departing from our Holy Mother, the Church, no matter how evil a churchman may be!

"Then Herod ... killed all of the male children that were in Bethlehem and in all the borders thereof, from two years old and under." (Matt. 2.16)

In honour of today's feast, that of the Holy Innocents, we post this reflection on the day given by Bishop Challoner. The above painting is by Gustave Dore.

Consider first, that the Son of God, who was born into this world to be the Saviour of the world, was no sooner born, but he began to be persecuted by the children of this world. The wicked king Herod, to secure to himself and his family the temporal kingdom of Judea, seeks the life of this new-born king - of whose birth he had been informed by the sages of the East - and in order to compass his impious design, employs both craft, and (when this was eluded) open violence, by the barbarous massacre of the innocents. But all to no other purpose than to show how vain are the designs and efforts of men against the decrees of God; according to that of the wise man, Prov. xxi. 30, 'There is no wisdom, there is no prudence, there is no counsel against the Lord.' Our new-born Saviour, by divine admonition, was carried away to Egypt, out of the reach of the tyrant, and all his barbarity only served to render the birth of the Messias more illustrious, by spreading the fame of it through all the world, and to crown at the same time so many innocent martyrs; whilst, for his own part, it brought a perpetual odium upon his infamous memory, which no length of tie can ever efface, and drew down most terrible judgments (within the compass of a year) upon his head; and as to his numerous family, for which he was so solicitous, they quickly lost the kingdom, and were in a short time totally extirpated. O see, Christians, how sad a thing it is wilfully to fight against our Saviour by known sin, and how dismal the consequences are of all such undertakings.

Consider 2ndly, that we read, Matt. ii. 16. &c., 'Then Herod, perceiving that he was deluded by the wise men, was exceeding angry, and sending, killed all the male children that were in Bethlehem and in all the borders thereof, from two years old and under.' These, my soul, are the Holy Innocents, whose feast we celebrate this day as happy martyrs, bearing testimony, not by their words but by their blood, to the birth of the Son of God. These are the first victims, immolated as so many lambs, to illustrate the coming of our Lamb of God, born into this world to take away the sins of the world. These are the first flowers of the martyrs, cropt in the very bud by the impious persecutor of Christ; these the first-fruits produced by the coming of our Lord, and presented by him to his Father, to be followed afterwards by that abundant harvest out of all nations of innumerable glorious champions of Christ, who should maintain his cause by the testimony of their blood. To these the church applies in the lesson of this day that of Apoc. xiv. 4, 5, 'These are they who were not defiled with women: for they are virgins. These follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were purchased from among men, the first-fruits to God and to the Lamb: and in their mouth there was found no lie; for they are without spot before the throne of God.' O let us honour these first martyrs of the Son of God.

Consider 3rdly, that purity, innocence, and temporal sufferings are by divine appointment the way to eternal happiness. By this road the Holy Innocents arrived thither. O how happy are all they that are walking in this road! See then, Christians, how greatly you are deceived in flying so much from sufferings, since these are to bring you to your God. There was lamentations and great mourning in Bethlehem of the mothers of the Holy Innocents: they were not to be comforted because they had lost their children. In the meantime there was a great joy in heaven for their happy transmigration to a region of endless bliss. Thus, when the world is sorrowful, heaven rejoices; because the sufferings of this short time produce for the sufferers an eternal weight of glory in that blessed kingdom, whereas they that are without sufferings are in danger of never coming thither.

Conclude to embrace whatsoever share may be appointed for thee in the sufferings of this life, as designed by divine Providence to help thee to heaven. Assure thyself that thy God knows what is best for thee, and that he sends thee what he knows to be the best. Had not the Innocents been brought to God by the means of their sufferings they might have lived to have crucified their Lord, and instead of being eternally happy, might have been eternally miserable.

Our Sacred Ancient Rites reflects the Unity of the Divine and Human in Christ Jesus

Dear Catholic friends, the Mass/Divine Liturgy/Holy Qurbana is not to be trifled with. The Holy Mysteries are organic outgrowths of a human culture, imbued with the Divine. As Our Lord Jesus Christ is both God and Man, so too, in an analogous manner, the Sacraments are both Divine and human. Divinity blesses us through seemingly natural human means: bread, wine, gesture, word, song. But these elements and more emerge from human cultures that have organically grown over the centuries. A Catholic culture will give birth to Catholic worship. Thus the Church is not a rigid mono-form, but, to the contrary, a brilliant flowering of liturgies, reflecting something of the variety of Man. Hence the Church has besides the Roman Rite, other Latin Rites (really "usages" as Davies would say): amongst them the Sarum, Dominican, Ambrosian etc. In the east, the Divine Liturgies reflect the cultures out of which (e.g.) emerged such fathers as St. John Chrysostom and St. Basil.

In our day, with the attack on the Tridentine Roman Liturgy by the Pope (an attack on the very Mass of Rome itself), we should all the more demand the Liturgical Rites of our forefathers. If there is any "reform" it is back to the ancient Rites! It was a tragedy that when the English and Welsh hierarchy was reestablished that the Sarum usage was not reinstated. Likewise it is a tragedy that the traditional Ambrosian Rite was stolen from northern Italians and Swiss by the delinquent Romans.

Friends, the churchmen at one point took very seriously the sacred Rites. For example, one was bound to one's Rite at birth. I might attend and love the beauty of the eastern Rites, but I cannot change my Rite unless I bring a grave reason before my bishop. When a woman married a man, she, if of a different Rite, was transferred to his Rite. Thus a Latin woman in marrying a Byzantine, became a Byzantine. In this manner the Church ensured familial unity, whilst honouring all ancient Rites.

Dear friend: you were baptised in the ancient Roman Rite, or an ancient eastern Rite? Remain faithful to your forefathers. Do not try to wander from one Rite to another like a protestant (as if you can without your bishop's permission leave your Rite!); remain in the Rite that was gifted to you by the Holy Spirit, and to which you belong. Fight for your Rite, do not betray it! For those of you baptised in the baptismal Rite created in the 1970s, return to the traditional Latin Rites of your forefathers.

Eastern Catholics do NOT trust the churchmen in Rome, they will seek to demolish your ancient Rites, as they have demolished the Rite I was baptised into. If they despise the Rites of their parents and grandparents, what care do you think they have for the Divine Liturgies brought to heavenly glory by the ancient Church fathers? Just as they brutally attacked the Mass brought to its glory by the incomparable St. Gregory the Great, so too these spiritual barbarians would seek to destroy the glorious liturgies of the equally incomparable St. Basil the Great and St. John Chrysostom.

May St. John the Evangelist, whose Feast Day is today, give us the love for the Divine Mysteries that he had. May his devotion to the Divinity of the Word made Flesh, inspire us to devotion to the ancient, sacred liturgies that reflect the Incarnation.

Francis and Traditionis Custodes: This attack on Catholic Tradition ends any possible reunion with the Orthodox

The Pope and International Financiers. Another betrayal for 30 pieces of silver

When Pope Benedict released not ONLY the Tridentine Mass, but also the Sacramental life of the vast majority of Latins, his action was welcomed by the eastern churches. Now, with the recent papal attack on the ancient liturgy of the Latins, the separated easterners are openly mocking us; even going so far as to take the words of Vatican I out of context and claim the Roman Church set up the Pope as an absolutist Monarch. Though these easterners are ignorant of true Catholic Tradition,  they ironically raise a good point: the papal actions ARE a perversion of Vatican I; the actions are being seen as those of a brutal tyrant, rather than that of a loving "papa".

The easterners are well aware that a Pope and Curia who can openly attack the Rites of the Latin Church, can just as easily attack and pervert the Rite of the eastern churches. Indeed, it is foolishness to think that reunion would not bring about a call to "update" the Divine Liturgies of Sts. John Chrysostom and Basil. They are also well aware of the degenerate "West" and want none of it; they do not want their nations perverted and handed over bound and gagged to be stripped of the last vestiges of Christianity, as they are doing in America and western Europe; turning these nations into cesspools of degeneracy and moral filth. Hence the constant demonisation of Russia and Orthodoxy by the same criminals who wish to eliminate the rising strength of orthodoxy.

Open to reflection is why the Roman churchmen would launch this violent attack now. Is it a "payoff" to their oligarch financial masters who keep turning up at the Vatican? Is the "church" of "mercy, surprises, and the poor", really just the spiritual animator for the humanist neo-paganism of the globalists (as predicted five decades ago by the late saintly, Abbe Georges de Nantes?). After all, are not the Roman churchmen in lockstep with their masters on every existential issue? From open pushing of climate alarmism, covid alarmism, UN Sustainable Development, lockdowns, techno-authoritarian statism, and corporate neo-fascism to glaring silence on the demolition of the family, the glorification of sexual perversion, the destruction of natural law, family rights, and small business. Is the attack on Catholic tradition part of the ramping up of the attacks by the globalists under the fraud of covid alarmism? Just what were the requests of the international financiers who populate the marble halls of the "Apostolic" palace?

In conclusion, as we reflect on our suffering brothers and sisters in Quebec City who have been locked out of their churches - not by Nazis, communists, or brigands - but by their very own Judas bishop - let us also realize that this act of spiritual sadism could have been stopped with one phone call from Rome. Lacroix's monstrous evil is shared in by the pope, his nuncio, and to a degree by the other Canadian bishops who sit by like mute dogs. By their silence, they are complicit in this crime.

Friends, Catholic Tradition is NOT going anywhere. I implore you to only attend traditional Catholic liturgies this Christmas and beyond. Do NOT be intimidated by the cruelties of the churchmen in Rome. Seek out priests who offer the Sacraments in the manner of our forefathers, in the manner which Sts. such as Maximilian Kolbe and Padre Pio offered them.

Let us implore St. Stephen to bless our French-Canadian brothers and sisters. Likewise, let us implore him to pray for the conversion of the pope, the bishops; just as he prayed for Saul's conversion as he was being martyred at the hands of the maddened mob.

Cardinal Gerald Lacroix: NO Mass, NO Christmas, NO Epiphany FOR YOU!

I'VE JUST PLACED QUEBEC UNDER A CORONA INTERDICT!

The Catholics of Quebec have Judas Iscariot's "spiritual son" loose in their midst: he is the Archbishop of Quebec, sitting, nay profaning and desecrating the cathedra of the sainted Francois de Laval.

His pretext for boarding up churches for the SECOND year in a row is "omi-cold" (omicron), a coronavirus variant that seems to have genetic components of SARS-CoV2 and other RNA viruses (e.g. enteroviruses). Contrary to the lies being spread, gene therapy-based vaccines - given the spike protein specific design - are useless against this common cold (as are vaccines against any constantly mutating coronavirus) being pushed as a new killer "black death" virus. Hence, the lock downs, the demolition of civil liberties, the destruction of small business, the pushing of the techno-authoritarian State, the glorification of fascism, and most importantly, the attacks on the public worship of God.

So, in light of this massive fraud perpetrated by the neo-feudal oligarchs, their political and presstitute pawns, we have them being joined by the very men who should be standing up and exposing this evil. Alas, we have the churchmen, from the pope on down working as agents for this neo-feudal new world order.

So it was that a couple of days ago, the long suffering remnant of Catholics in Quebec City awoke to read a letter from Gerald Lacroix informing them that he had taken the decision to place them under an interdict; suppress all Masses to at least January 10th because such Masses are "risky gatherings". Further, denying Catholics of Mass and the Sacraments is, according to this cretin, "...a strong gesture of solidarity" with "vulnerable people" and the "entire health network...". My, my, I had no idea that suppressing the Holy Mysteries was beneficial to the vulnerable etc.

The morbidly obese Lacroix (can anyone explain why SO MANY bishops are obese, with multiple comorbidities?), not content with knifing the faithful, proceeds to spit in their faces with a brazen corrupting of history. This creature informs Catholics he is but merely doing what the bishops did during the Spanish Flu Crisis, claiming it was a "similar situation". He is LYING!

Yes, the churches were briefly closed, but Lacroix left out the CRUCIAL fact: over 150 people were dying per day in Montreal (in today's numbers that would be 1000+ per day) for a period of two weeks.

But it gets worse, far worse: HE ALSO LEFT OUT THE SPIRITUAL RESPONSE.

During the Spanish Flu the Blessed Sacrament was carried through the streets; priests brought the Blessed Sacrament to the faithful in their homes. The faithful were encouraged to pray the Rosary every day. All of these are completely absent in the Letter. Lacroix does NOT even mention the Holy Name of Jesus, even less proclaiming he will lead a Eucharistic Procession through the streets of Quebec City, and that all priests will be ordered to bring Holy Communion to the faithful.

Friends, we should thank Almighty God for using corona to smoke out these wolves in sheep's clothing. Let us keep Quebec Catholics in our prayers. Also, let us never, for ONE MOMENT think of leaving the One, Holy, Roman, Catholic, and Apostolic Church, outside of which there is no salvation

The episcopal seats may but be briefly occupied by the spiritual heirs of Caiphas and Judas, but we must stay with our Mother the Church in Her dark hour of need. She needs US by Her bedside; not these evil, wicked creatures, who in their words and action declare themselves with each passing day to be the enemies of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Merry Christmas to all of our readers!

Christmas is almost here - that wonderful night when the Christ Child was born. It is amazing to think of how much this event was anticipated by the Old Testament and the angels, the latter of whom, if I may be permitted to use my imagination, waited with bated breath for that moment of His Birth.

With that in mind, we here at Toronto Catholic Witness wish all of our readers a Merry Christmas. 2021 has had its ups and downs, to be sure, but the Christ Child's birth is a tender reminder that hope springs eternal - no matter if it is in season or out of season.

Merry Christmas - and may the hope of the Christ Child remain in your hearts always.

"Come, sing the Lord's praise with me, let us extol his name together." (Ps. 33:4)

1
(Of David, when he feigned madness at the court of Abimelech, so that Abimelech sent him away, and he escaped. )
2

At all times I will bless the Lord; his praise shall be on my lips continually.
3

Be all my boasting in the Lord; listen to me, humble souls, and rejoice.
4

Come, sing the Lord’s praise with me, let us extol his name together.
5

Did I not look to the Lord, and find a hearing; did he not deliver me from all my terrors?
6

Ever look to him, and in him find happiness; here is no room for downcast looks.
7

Friendless folk may still call upon the Lord and gain his ear, and be rescued from all their afflictions.
8

Guardian of those who fear the Lord, his angel encamps at their side, and brings deliverance.
9

How gracious the Lord is! Taste and prove it; blessed is the man that learns to trust in him.
10

It is for you, his chosen servants, to fear the Lord; those who fear him never go wanting.
11

Justly do the proud fall into hunger and want; blessing they lack not that look to him.
12

Know, then, my children, what the fear of the Lord is; come and listen to my teaching.
13

Long life, and prosperous days, who would have these for the asking?
14

My counsel is, keep thy tongue clear of harm, and thy lips free from every treacherous word.
15

Naught of evil cherish thou, but rather do good; let peace be all thy quest and aim.
16

On the upright the Lord’s eye ever looks favourably; his ears are open to their pleading.
17

Perilous is his frown for the wrong-doers; he will soon make their name vanish from the earth.
18

Roused by the cry of the innocent, the Lord sets them free from all their afflictions.
19

So near is he to patient hearts, so ready to defend the humbled spirit.
20

Though a hundred trials beset the innocent, the Lord will bring him safely through them all.
21

Under the Lord’s keeping, every bone of his is safe; not one of them shall suffer harm.
22

Villainy hastes to its own undoing; the enemies of innocence will bear their punishment.
23

The Lord will claim his servant as his own; they go unreproved that put their trust in him.

May the English Martyrs give us strength

During this dark time, when the Church is besieged on all sides - and from within - by the enemies of Christ, let us draw inspiration from the English martyrs who endured to the end.

This coming Friday, December 10th is the anniversary of  the glorious deaths of Sts. Edmund Gennings and Poydore Plasden. May they pray for us.

The importance of true conversion of the heart

The flurry of comments on Barona's recent post reminded me of what St. Francis de Sales (1567 - 1622) wrote about true devotion in his Introduction to the Devout Life. It is worth quoting in full, with emphasis.

You aim at a devout life, dear child, because as a Christian you know that such devotion is most acceptable to God’s Divine Majesty. But seeing that the small errors people are wont to commit in the beginning of any under taking are apt to wax greater as they advance, and to become irreparable at last, it is most important that you should thoroughly understand wherein lies the grace of true devotion; — and that because while there undoubtedly is such a true devotion, there are also many spurious and idle semblances thereof; and unless you know which is real, you may mistake, and waste your energy in pursuing an empty, profitless shadow. Arelius was wont to paint all his pictures with the features and expression of the women he loved, and even so we all colour devotion according to our own likings and dispositions. One man sets great value on fasting, and believes himself to be leading a very devout life, so long as he fasts rigorously, although the while his heart is full of bitterness; — and while he will not moisten his lips with wine, perhaps not even with water, in his great abstinence, he does not scruple to steep them in his neighbour’s blood, through slander and detraction. Another man reckons himself as devout because he repeats many prayers daily, although at the same time he does not refrain from all manner of angry, irritating, conceited or insulting speeches among his family and neighbours. This man freely opens his purse in almsgiving, but closes his heart to all gentle and forgiving feelings towards those who are opposed to him; while that one is ready enough to forgive his enemies, but will never pay his rightful debts save under pressure. Meanwhile all these people are conventionally called religious, but nevertheless they are in no true sense really devout.

When Saul’s servants sought to take David, Michal induced them to suppose that the lifeless figure lying in his bed, and covered with his garments, was the man they sought; and in like manner many people dress up an exterior with the visible acts expressive of earnest devotion, and the world supposes them to be really devout and spiritual-minded, while all the time they are mere lay figures, mere phantasms of devotion.

But, in fact, all true and living devotion presupposes the love of God; — and indeed it is neither more nor less than a very real love of God, though not always of the same kind; for that Love one while shining on the soul we call grace, which makes us acceptable to His Divine Majesty; — when it strengthens us to do well, it is called Charity; — but when it attains its fullest perfection, in which it not only leads us to do well, but to act carefully, diligently, and promptly, then it is called Devotion.

The ostrich never flies, the hen rises with difficulty, and achieves but a brief and rare flight, but the eagle, the dove, and the swallow, are continually on the wing, and soar high; — even so sinners do not rise towards God, for all their movements are earthly and earthbound. Well-meaning people, who have not as yet attained a true devotion, attempt a manner of flight by means of their good actions, but rarely, slowly and heavily; while really devout men rise up to God frequently, and with a swift and soaring wing. In short, devotion is simply a spiritual activity and liveliness by means of which Divine Love works in us, and causes us to work briskly and lovingly; and just as charity leads us to a general practice of all God’s Commandments, so devotion leads us to practise them readily and diligently. And therefore we cannot call him who neglects to observe all God’s Commandments either good or devout, because in order to be good, a man must be filled with love, and to be devout, he must further be very ready and apt to perform the deeds of love.

And forasmuch as devotion consists in a high degree of real love, it not only makes us ready, active, and diligent in following all God’s Commands, but it also excites us to be ready and loving in performing as many good works as possible, even such as are not enjoined upon us, but are only matters of counsel or inspiration. Even as a man just recovering from illness, walks only so far as he is obliged to go, with a slow and weary step, so the converted sinner journeys along as far as God commands him but slowly and wearily, until he attains a true spirit of devotion, and then, like a sound man, he not only gets along, but he runs and leaps in the way of God’s Commands, and hastens gladly along the paths of heavenly counsels and inspirations. The difference between love and devotion is just that which exists between fire and flame; — love being a spiritual fire which becomes devotion when it is fanned into a flame; — and what devotion adds to the fire of love is that flame which makes it eager, energetic and diligent, not merely in obeying God’s Commandments, but in fulfilling His Divine Counsels and inspirations.

If the comments on Barona's post are any indication, the problems of practicing true devotion are just as prevalent in our time as it was during St. Francis de Sales' time.

Conversion of the heart from sin is not a one-step process. This is where the Protestants terribly mixed things up. Rather, it is a journey, step-by-step, from the foot of the Cross to the kiss of Our Lord Jesus Christ's (Blessed be His Name forever!) mouth, to use St. Bernard of Clairvaux's phraseology. Rome was not built in a day - it is the same with conversion of one's heart from sin through repentance.

May God bless you all - and may we all meet on the other side of Heaven one day, praising and singing glory to God forever and ever.

Catholics under persecution: Will we restore in Christ or reset in Satan?

Blessed art thou, Lord God of our fathers, renowned and glorious is thy name for ever! In all thy dealings with us, thou hast right on thy side; so true to thy promises, so unswerving in thy course, so just in thy awards! No punishment thou hast inflicted upon us, or upon Jerusalem, holy city of our fathers, but was deserved; for sins of ours, faithfulness and justice that stroke laid on. Sinners we were, that had wronged and forsaken thee, all was amiss with us; unheard thy commandments, or else unheeded, thy will neglected, and with it, our own well-being! Nothing we had not deserved, pillage of thy contriving, plague of thy sending, and at last the foul domination of godless foes, of a tyrant that has no equal on earth! Tongue-tied we stand, that have brought disgrace on the livery of thy true worship.

In these days we are without prince or leader or prophet, we have no burnt-sacrifice, no victim, no offering; for us no incense burns, no first-fruits can be brought into thy presence and win thy favour. But oh, accept us still, hearts that are crushed, spirits bowed down by adversity; look kindly on the sacrifice we offer thee this day, as it had been burnt-sacrifice of rams and bullocks, thousands of fattened lambs; who ever trusted in thee and was disappointed? With all our hearts, now, we choose thy will, we reverence thee, we long after thy presence; for that clemency, that abundant mercy of thine must we hope in vain? By some wondrous deliverance vindicate thy own renown; theirs be the vain hope, that would do thy servants an injury. Fools, that would match themselves with omnipotence! Crush down their might; teach them that in all the world Lord there is none, God there is none, glorified as thou. (Daniel 3: 26-32; 38-41)

When we are being scourged it means that God still loves us, and asks for our repentance. We can either imitate the saintly Three Young Men or we can follow Barabbas. Does that mean we rejoice that we are in Babylon? No. But it does mean we meditate why we are in exile. Surely there are some terrible sins to make reparation and repent of. Let us just think of the millions killed in abortion, or the sins against morality and family, the innumerable outrageous and mocking violations of The Commandments by Catholics, millions, nay hundreds of millions of Catholics. Or, let us just consider the silence of millions of others as these crimes went on. Just as Israel of old was punished for her infidelity, so too, Israel of today is being punished for her infidelity. God will not be mocked. Yes, he is a loving Father, but he is also a just Father.

For those Catholics who have and wish to remain faithful to the Father, He also desires us to use the intelligence and reason He gave us. Just read the Bible. Read Daniel (was he not a consultant for the pagan King, without compromising the Faith?), Esther (did she not marry the pagan King, without compromising the Faith?), Maccabees (did they not use their wits and intelligence without compromising the Faith?), Habbakuk, Lamentations, and Job (did not the Prophets teach us humility and repentance?).

Let us go and do likewise.

Sts. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, pray for us.

Traditional Catholics: It is past time we had a good, long look in the mirror: Are WE doing the Devil's work?

Is Jesus Christ the centre of my life?

What doth it profit a man to denounce the Pope and lose his soul? Or refuse the request of his traditional priest to mask up, thereby gifting the local modernist bishop what he desires: the "beheading" of the local Mass on a silver platter?

There are innumerable examples of such sinful insanity that is infecting more and more "traditional" Catholics. From whence does it come? Pride. Pride is a killer. As Archbishop Lenga recently noted, we hear about people declaring for sedevacantism, for the SSPX, for the Jesuits, for this or that: but declaring for Our Lord Jesus Christ he asks? They are silent.

Recently a comment was sent to this blog in which, it was claimed the Pope was "a demon". Another comment referred to the Pope as "public enemy number one". Vox Cantoris was told the other day that he was "demonic". How does this build up the Mystical Body of Christ? How does this edify our families and friends in the Faith? How does this lead a searcher for the truth who is visiting the blog to consider converting when all he reads is hate and rage, despicable name calling? Who in their right mind would in the Catholic Church when they read these mad ravings?

And how does this spewing out if sin strengthen our prayer life? What comes of attacking, slandering, defaming brothers and sisters in Christ? Where is our charity? "And because iniquity hath abounded, the charity of many shall grow cold".  (Matthew 24:12). There is laughter in Hell when Satan has convinced "traditional" Catholics that they are serving God when in fact they are doing the devil's work.

We need a return to pure religion. The Catholic Faith is NOT a political party. In fact, the most political "College of Cardinals" in Our Lord's Day, the Sanhedrin, organized His murder and even declared the pagan "god", Caesar their "god". For those sad men the end was not a good one when they had to stand before Christ at Judgment. They had lost the faith for they had already grown "cold" and had no "charity". Compare them to the repentant good thief or the devoted humility of the saintly daughters of Jerusalem.

We traditional Catholics need to seriously examine ourselves before God. Are we devoting one, two, three and more hours a day on the internet searching for the latest papal scandal and gossip? Are we busily posting in comboxes protestant-inspired declarations that the Pope of Rome is not the Pope? Are we disobeying our priest who requests us to mask up at Mass so the modernist bishop is not given exactly what he wants? A pretext to suppress the Mass? In short: are WE DOING THE DEVIL'S WORK?

I have a few suggestions for those who spend hours on social media denouncing, raging, fuming: why not devote half your energy to picketing the local abortion mill? Praying the Rosary outside the local bishop's Office for his conversion? Volunteering time visiting the shut-ins? Doing grocery shopping for the elderly?

We might be able to fool a few people by turning up at Mass every Sunday; even daily recitation (notice, I do NOT say praying) of the Rosary, novenas, following Ember Days etc. Did not the Pharisees do the same? But we cannot fool God. We might be able to mask our sinful life with exterior manifestations of "piety" but interiorly we are "sounding brass..." (c.f. 1 Cor 13:1).

...or is Satan?

Dear Catholic friends, in this time of ever increasing confusion we need to draw closer to Christ and His Mother and NOT turn our backs on them. For the hierarchy, if we believe them confused, wayward, cowardly, even some evil (as I do on all those descriptors) we must take very careful care that our response does not place us on the road that they might be travelling. Let us, whatever happens, NEVER, leave the VISIBLE Church of Christ for some synagogue of Satan. Heresy and schism are a sad response to - you guessed it: heresy and schism.

Advent will soon be upon us:let us repent of our sins, and engage in good works. For as St. James wrote "faith without good works is dead". Let us look in the spiritual mirror and see what we find looking back at us. Is it faith and good works, always striving, always improving. Or, is it a satanic caricature of faith with no good works?

Archbishop Lenga speaks about true and false obedience to the Pope and Bishops

Archbishop Lenga, Defender of the Faith

Archbishop Jan Pawel Lenga (Archbishop emeritus of Karaganda, Khazakstan) has been one of the very few voices in the hierarchy who has consistently proclaimed the Gospel in season and out of season. He was one of ONLY five bishops who signed the "40 Fundamentals of Truth". The document has been scrubbed from the internet (also removed from the "conservative" National Catholic Register, no doubt as a result of EWTN's episcopal masters ordering it removed. See here), However we have obtained a copy and will be publishing it in due order. Stay tuned!

Archbishop Lenga accurately predicted the disgraceful response of the world's hierarchy regarding the "NIH-Wuhan" conspiracy to engage in gain-of-function experimentation leading to the SAR-CoV2 coronavirus. With dry humour the saintly Prelate even noting that the bishops in terror of the virus would be in hiding in their mansions, gaining even more weight as they were being fed on bended knee by lay underlings. He tore into these slaves of Caesar for handing over the sacred rites of the Mass to Caesar, allowing the Most Holy Eucharist to be profaned.

In contrast, he suggested bishops (and priests) were being offered a quick way to heaven by taking the Sacraments to dying faithful and themselves falling fatally ill. Alas, we know the road they decided to take.  Indeed, the new road of unmitigated evil seems to be leading to a two tiered system: I predict that here in the Archdiocese of Toronto we will soon have trotted out a diabolical scheme of "Leper Masses" and "mRNA Masses".

Cardinal Collins and the Bishops have surrendered to the State and abandoned the children

Triumph of Judah Maccabees by Ruebens

As plans move forward the bishops of Canada continue to prostrate themselves before "King Antiochus" and, with their promotion of vaccinating healthy children, allow the spread of "evil in the land" (c.f. Maccabees 1).

As has been noted, children have been spared the dangers of COVID. Further, they do NOT spread it. Indeed, the entire LIE to vaccinate them is premised that children are indeed silent super-spreaders, moving about with ease contaminating the 50% plus of the chronically ill (who supposedly already have been vaccinated).

In this macabre horror show, the bishops of Canada are not only silent, but they are proactive henchmen of "King Antiochus". But it is far worse than just playing with healthy children's health, monstrous as this is. This horror goes to the heart of the bishops of Canada playing the whore, and engaging in an illicit embrace with the State.

Let him who has ears hear, who has eyes see. These men have even betrayed the little ones into the hands of Moloch.

The Surrender to the godless State was years ago

Wilt thou not be the first to come forward and do the king’s bidding, with the whole world, and the men of Juda everywhere, and what is left of Jerusalem? To be the king’s friend, thou and thy sons with thee, gold and silver and much else for thy reward!  Loud rang the answer of Mattathias: What though king Antiochus have the whole world for his vassals? Obey the edict who will, forsaking the custom his fathers lived by,  both I and son of mine, both I and clansman of mine, will obey the law handed down to us.  Mercy of God! What needs it we should leave his will undone, his claims unhonoured? To deaf ears king Antiochus proclaims the sacrifice; we swerve not from the law’s path, right or left. (1 Maccabees 2: 18-22)

The Health Crisis is FAR more DANGEROUS than COVID. Change YOUR lifestyle and STOP taking it out on healthy children!

Now, they claim that children are putting them at "risk"!

It is not the soul alone that should be healthy; if the mind is healthy in a healthy body, all will be healthy and much better prepared to give God greater service. St. Ignatius

Over the past few decades there has been an unprecedented explosion in the health care crisis. Sky rocketing high blood pressure, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases etc. In sum, well over 50% of the population is chronically ill.

Now "they" have set their sights on children. The pretext is children are transmitters of COVID (the NIH gain-of-function experiment held in Wuhan).

And indeed "they" are correct, but IF and ONLY IF children transmit. Indeed children would be the MOST DEADLY super-spreader, since they also show the least amount of symptoms. If you believe children spread then logically you MUST be a proponent of mandatory child vaccination.

But, DO they spread? The scientific evidence shows otherwise. Children are virtually immune (very young children have yet to develop substantial numbers of ACE-2 receptors) and we KNOW they do NOT transmit the virus (c.f peer-reviewed Swedish study of 2,000,000 schoolchildren). In fact, from an immunological and epidemiological perspective, children (who on average catch 4 cornaviruses per annum) should be encouraged to continue to mix with all ages, including their elderly grandparents (the healthy elderly especially need their natural immunity boosted by being exposed to the normal daily pathogens that we all carry; which we are ALL exposed to on a daily basis).

We can either take proactive action or continue to deny reality, mask-up (masks don't work by the way), hide under our beds, stop exercising (or refuse to exercise), and continue to devour the poisonous and immune system destroying "foods" that are pushed on us during (so they tell us) a dangerous pandemic. So dangerous, that the economy had to be destroyed and life saving medical procedures and care suspended for nearly two weeks (sorry, two YEARS).

One would have thought that a "pandemic" "loose in the community" (to quote Cardinal Collins), was a perfect opportunity to undertake a SERIOUS effort to correct the decades long health care crisis. Alas, nothing has been said, nothing done. In fact, people have been encouraged to continue in their sedentary lifestyle, hiding under their beds, masking, and continuing to believe that the virus is about to leap out from behind a bush. The fact is, reasonable people ended the pandemic last year reaching herd immunity (just checkout Sweden's numbers this year. Virtually no deaths, no lock downs, no masking of children in schools, etc. no madness...).

There has been NO effort on the part of (bought out?) governments to promote a healthy lifestyle. Indeed, the so-called "healthy" food recommendations (e.g. Health Canada Guide) are replete with half-truths, and down right error. What we have is an unhealthy population with multiple comorbidities, being kept alive with drugs. All this does is incentivise Big Pharma and Big Processed Foods to keep things going as they are: why upset a very profitable business? This is not a post about vaccine passports or mandatory masking, but just consider the irrationality of imposing them, but still permitting the sale and use of tobacco. It is about control over a weakened, effete, materialistic, sybaritic, infantile, unhealthy, and sedentary population.

Friends are you not aware that your body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit? To knowingly abuse your body with dangerous "foods" (many slow killing poisons) is sinful; indeed it can become gravely sinful when one is aware and one's body has moved from optimum health to a state of clinically diagnosed chronic illness. Here I speak ONLY of self-induced illness. This is NOT about the genetically predisposed; those who have become ill through no fault of their own. Here I speak only about people who have devoted years to self-abuse.

Take control of YOUR life. They want you weak, sick, and controlled. Certainly they do NOT want you healthy or they would have banned by now all the dangerous, addictive "foods" that populate the market, and are advertised every day on social media (during an immuno-linked pandemic no less! I guess we need to consult our "very virtuous" public health officials on that contradiction).

But there is still time while you breath. Get up, and get healthy. When the virus struck last March we had an opportunity to redouble our efforts to maintain our health, or get healthy. We know the VAST majority of those struck down by COVID are unhealthy. This makes complete sense as with any transmissible disease. So we must ask ourselves: what have we been doing for nearly TWO YEARS (and counting)? Ah,a synthetic drug will "save" us. No personal responsibility, no effort to get healthy; just take more artificial, synthetic products to keep the delusion going.

If you do not exercise, START today. If you eat junk food (and that's the majority) STOP. The saints disciplined their body, so can you.

Get a grip friends: death is a reality. COVID is a reality; it is here to stay, like all other coronaviruses. We should be exceedingly joyful that at least it is a disease that does not attack children. The effort should now be twofold: as mentioned encouraging a healthy, active population, and secondly initiating prosecution of the criminals in Washington and Wuhan who developed this dangerous experiment and unloosed it on humanity. Sadly, neither will be done.

The rejection of Christ as King over the Nation and State is at the heart of the civilizational crisis

Pope Pius XI

Today marks Pius XI's "forgotten" encyclical on Christ the King, Quas Primas. It was forgotten by the vast majority of prelates in the 1920s and the faithful, for they had already become corrupted, and wanted to go along to get along with liberalism. Here, in North America, we had the disgrace of Americanist bishops in the last century working might and main to obfuscate the Syllabus of Errors and proclaim that they could be good Catholics yet adhere to masonic ideals that permeated the foundations of the United States (and which, as we are living through, her eventual ruin, for that which is not founded on truth cannot survive). Likewise in Canada we are now living the results of 150 years of knee-taking to masonic ideals, as exemplified in the betrayal of preaching the Gospels amongst the Natives, to joining with the State to "Canadianize" Indians.

In contrast to these two cowardly examples of bishops more or less placing themselves under the "whim of princes and rulers" (Pius XI), the local Catholic Church is neutered, disgraced, mocked by the non-believers, and the Gospel trampled underfoot by the continuation of these wicked policies who have become de facto gallican "churches" run by the unworthy succeeding cowards who have occupied far too many episcopal thrones over the past two centuries. The result of ineffectual and disastrous leadership by these men has brought the Catholic Church in North America to near ruin. It would be into this effete North American gallacinized "church" that European modernist poison would be injected (and eagerly taken up), along with massive infiltration by communists, and in their wake, homosexuals - who, alas, dominate clerical ranks. The result is a near universal decadent and corrupt hierarchy; compromised (probably blackmailed as well), dominated by the State

We now see, dear friends, the result of infidelity to the Gospel. Complete ruin. The great Pius XI was ignored (just as Gregory XVI, Pius IX, Leo XIII, Benedict XV, and Pius X were), and the road to complete collapse was inevitable. No doubt, "modern" men in their day must have been horrified when Gregory XVI denounced unrestrained "freedom of the press", or Pius IX's admonition that the Pope CANNOT adapt himself to liberalism, or Leo XIII's warning to Americans that the American way is not the ideal way. So we jump forward a few decades to Pius XI's continual warnings that Christian civilization was tottering to her ruin if NOT founded on Our Lord AND His Church. Modern Man has chosen otherwise, and the fruit is there for all to see.

Friends, stay with the Church: is is a pathetic excuse to leave the Mystical Body because She has been seemingly overrun by evil prelates. Men, who rather than preaching restoration of ALL things in Christ, prefer "resetting" all things in Satan. For where Christ is not found, Satan will be there. That is why the "smoke of Satan" entered the Church. The churchmen were kicking Christ out, so He left. Let us at least welcome Him into our hearts, praying that these evil men repent. We are NOT going to be saved by princes, politicians, presidents, businessmen or any other "saviour". Get that once and for all out of your mind. The Shepherd is struck, the sheep are scattered.

From Pius XI's Quas Primas, establishing the Feast of Christ the King:

We ordain that the whole Catholic world shall revere Christ as King, We shall minister to the need of the present day, and at the same time provide an excellent remedy for the plague which now infects society. We refer to the plague of anti-clericalism, its errors and impious activities. This evil spirit, as you are well aware, Venerable Brethren, has not come into being in one day; it has long lurked beneath the surface. The empire of Christ over all nations was rejected. The right which the Church has from Christ himself, to teach mankind, to make laws, to govern peoples in all that pertains to their eternal salvation, that right was denied. Then gradually the religion of Christ came to be likened to false religions and to be placed ignominiously on the same level with them. [religious liberty]

It was then put under the power of the state and tolerated more or less at the whim of princes and rulers. [protestant tyranny] Some men went even further, and wished to set up in the place of God's religion a natural religion [Freemasonry, humanism] consisting in some instinctive affection of the heart. There were even some nations who thought they could dispense with God [Bolshevism], and that their religion should consist in impiety and the neglect of God.

The rebellion of individuals and states against the authority of Christ has produced deplorable consequences. We lamented these in the Encyclical Ubi arcano; we lament them today: the seeds of discord sown far and wide; those bitter enmities and rivalries between nations, which still hinder so much the cause of peace; that insatiable greed which is so often hidden under a pretense of public spirit and patriotism, and gives rise to so many private quarrels; a blind and immoderate selfishness, making men seek nothing but their own comfort and advantage, and measure everything by these; no peace in the home, because men have forgotten or neglect their duty; the unity and stability of the family undermined; society in a word, shaken to its foundations and on the way to ruin. We firmly hope, however, that the feast of the Kingship of Christ, which in future will be yearly observed, may hasten the return of society to our loving Savior.

It would be the duty of Catholics to do all they can to bring about this happy result. Many of these, however, have neither the station in society nor the authority which should belong to those who bear the torch of truth. This state of things may perhaps be attributed to a certain slowness and timidity in good people, who are reluctant to engage in conflict or oppose but a weak resistance; thus the enemies of the Church become bolder in their attacks. But if the faithful were generally to understand that it behooves them ever to fight courageously under the banner of Christ their King, then, fired with apostolic zeal, they would strive to win over to their Lord those hearts that are bitter and estranged from him, and would valiantly defend his rights....While nations insult the beloved name of our Redeemer by suppressing all mention of it in their conferences and parliaments, [religious indifferentism] we must all the more loudly proclaim his kingly dignity and power, all the more universally affirm his rights.
