"Traditionis custodes" is founded upon deception and lies

As Catholics in the Archdiocese of Toronto still reel from the horror of being deprived the Sacraments offered in the Roman Rite according to Missale Romanum, we should turn our minds back to two key points addressed by Pope Benedict XVI in Summorum Pontificum. Dear Catholic friends, as you read the late Pope's words, reflect on your experiences. You know that the words of Pope Benedict ring true; as you reflect on the contrary words in Traditionis Custodes, you know the monstrous lie that Pope Franics hoisted on the Church.

Pope Benedict:

"This document was most directly opposed on account of two fears, which I would like to address somewhat more closely in this letter.

In the first place, there is the fear that the document detracts from the authority of the Second Vatican Council, one of whose essential decisions – the liturgical reform – is being called into question".

"This fear is unfounded".

"In the second place, the fear was expressed in discussions about the awaited Motu Proprio, that the possibility of a wider use of the 1962 Missal would lead to disarray or even divisions within parish communities".

"This fear also strikes me as quite unfounded".

Now, let us consider the decisions made for Toronto in light of the words of Pope Benedict:

"I now come to the positive reason which motivated my decision to issue this Motu Proprio updating that of 1988. It is a matter of coming to an interior reconciliation in the heart of the Church....Let us generously open our hearts and make room for everything that the faith itself allows".

Compare the above to the text within Traditionis Custodes:

The late Pope with the arch-modernist Roche

Pope Francis

"...responses reveal a situation that preoccupies and saddens me, and persuades me of the need to intervene. Regrettably, the pastoral objective of my Predecessors...has often been seriously disregarded".

"I am nonetheless saddened that the instrumental use of Missale Romanum of 1962 is often characterized by a rejection not only of the liturgical reform, but of the Vatican Council II itself, claiming, with unfounded and unsustainable assertions, that it betrayed the Tradition and the “true Church".

"A final reason for my decision is this: ever more plain in the words and attitudes of many is the close connection between the choice of celebrations according to the liturgical books prior to Vatican Council II and the rejection of the Church and her institutions in the name of what is called the “true Church.”

"Responding to your requests, I take the firm decision to abrogate all the norms, instructions, permissions and customs that precede the present Motu proprio".

Dear Catholic friends the above distinguishes clearly two visions: one, that the allowance of the Missale Romanum did NOT create division and a schismatic mentality; and, the contary that it does. They both cannot be true. Further, Francis moved even beyond the "strawman" attacks and ended on what we all now know is a confirmed falsehood ("responding to your request"). As has emerged from multiple sources, the Pope either lied himself, or committed grave negligence, and allowed a lie to be passed off as truth. Either way, as Pope, the "buck" stops on his desk.

The bishops of the Catholic Church did NOT express the negative views claimed by Francis and they did NOT "request" that a "firm decision" be taken against Missale Romanum.

One final note: so obvious was the secretive, condescending, and clericalist manner in which this Traditionis Custodes is imposed and enforced. Have any of you not yet seen Frank Leo and Arthur Roche strolling into a Roman trattoria in late June? Vox Cantoris has it here.

If you are still giving money to the Archdiocese: STOP! As the late, saintly Fr.John O'Connor said: "there is only one thing these men love more than heresy, and that is money".

Rome is suppressing the Latin Mass and Traditional Sacraments in the Archdiocese of Toronto

The Holy (?) See in consultation with the Archdiocese of Toronto has determined that the weekly Sunday Latin Masses celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul and Holy Family will no longer continue - in accordance with "Traditionis Custodes".The agreement determined (we have NO written document as of this writing issued by either Rome or Toronto) that both parishes are now required to celebrate one Novus Ordo per month.

Accordingly, commencing next Sunday, September 20th, at St. Vincent's there will be an English Novus Ordo. Holy Family will have a Latin Novus Ordo for following week. Presumably the intent is to stagger the liturgies. I was also informed that this follows on earlier activity this year in which the Romans de facto suppressed the Mass in Schomberg and Scarborough, reducing it to once a month.

I myself, will be attending the Church of the Transfiguration on Sunday's when the Latin Mass is not available at my own parish.

I can tell you, dear readers, this was the first time I experienced what was akin to a kick in the stomach at Mass. And, I told one of the priests after Mass of this experience. Priests need to be made aware of the deep hurt that Catholics feel when they are so bitterly and viciously persecuted by heartless modernist clericalists who occupy the now "Unholy" See.

Here we are with rife apostasy and heresy, with abortion and euthanasia rampant - and what concerns the Romans ? - the suppression of the Latin Mass. And not only the Mass, but the sacraments as well. Commencing immediately - there will be NO traditionally administered sacraments. Funerals, Weddings, and Baptisms - all suppressed.

Concern for the liturgy? No. If it were concern for the liturgy, where is the concern for stopping the innumerable abuses, even abominations in the Novus Ordo? No. What concerns the Romans is denying faithful Catholics a funneral, a wedding, a baptism in rites that were not "revised" for "modern man". Denying faithful Catholics the rites handed down to us by our ancestors over the centuries is their concern, not stopping apostasy and heresy.

Please pray for the priests in Toronto who are under the Roman hammer - they did not look happy. Please pray for Cardinal Leo who at least kept the Romans at bay for over a year with "consultations". And hardest of all - please pray for the conversion of the Romans. The "Unholy" See is infested with evil. Pray they repent.

St.Michael, Patron of the Archdiocese of Toronto pray for us.

This post will be modest in scope. It is my opinion, that the July 1st crisis was avoidable. Both sides have blundered, and in their blundering have - seemingly - boxed themselves in.

The Pope and the Romans: Last year we are told the SSPX approached Rome for an audience, only to be ignored. I would say it is uncharitable and negligent to refuse to see the head of a Society of nearly a 1000 priests who requests to see his father.

On the other hand the SSPX can perhaps be faulted for not approaching Pope Francis over his 13 years; especially after he granted full canonical authority to hear confessions and formalize marriages. Why no approach?

A possible solution could have been that the SSPX had initially submitted 4 names to the Pope for the selection of 2 bishops. The Pope, as the "bridge builder", could have accepted this, and proposed back that the SSPX submit to him another 4 names within 12 months of the consecration of the first 2 bishops.

On the other hand, Rome in being intransigent regarding the authority of the Council - such as Tucho Fernandez claiming that every iota of a pastoral Council must be accepted - obviously is shutting down any discussion a priori. The limitations of the authority of the Council has already been dealt with from John XXIII onwards. Further, Rome's refusal to retract the uncharitable and unjust restrictions of Traditiones Custodes (which we now know were promulgated on lies and distortions told to the Pope) is an intolerable abuse of Catholics. While the Roman Mass is being crushed, the abuses in the liturgy continue unabated.

The Abbe de Nantes:

“One cannot save the Church by building on other foundations. But some people wanted to persuade me to do just that. As someone unjustly (although legally) deprived of all power of jurisdiction over souls by a Pope and bishops suspected of schism and heresy, I was supposed to consider myself a victim of persecution and to attribute to myself some kind of extraordinary jurisdiction directly derived from God ! The determining factor was meant to be the pressing necessity of souls who were in danger of perishing in a Church that had completely lost her direction. Well, my answer to this was : never, not at any price. Such jurisdiction has never been recognised by the holy canons except in the case of bishops in countries where persecution has totally destroyed or paralysed the local hierarchy. Presuming on the assent of the Holy See, these bishops would exercise this kind of extraordinary jurisdiction to save these Churches from total ruin and to provide for the urgent necessities of souls (Dom Gréa, L'Église, p. 235-238).

The proposals of Bishop Schneider, it seems to me, are Catholic and charitable. Let us pray that they are heard.

Catholic Unscripted also has a very interesting interview with Fr. Perricone.

Please pray for unity in the Church. Please pray ALWAYS with charity and without anger or hatred. It is easy to become angry on seeing the abuse, the heresy. But this can be a pathway to sin and perdition. The saints did not switch between piety and venom, nor should we. Our Lord did not spew venum on his persecutors: we are commanded by Our Lord to imitate Him. And imitate Him we must, even in the the most difficult of things and times. That is what makes us truly Catholic.
