We had this from "Sensus Fidei" (2014) pubished by the International Theological Commission:
63. Alerted by their sensus fidei, individual believers may deny assent even to the teaching of legitimate pastors if they do not recognise in that teaching the voice of Christ, the Good Shepherd. ‘The sheep follow [the Good Shepherd] because they know his voice. They will not follow a stranger, but they will run away from him because they do not know the voice of strangers’ (Jn 10:4-5). For St Thomas, a believer, even without theological competence, can and even must resist, by virtue of the sensus fidei, his or her bishop if the latter preaches heterodoxy. In such a case, the believer does not treat himself or herself as the ultimate criterion of the truth of faith, but rather, faced with materially ‘authorised’ preaching which he or she finds troubling, without being able to explain exactly why, defers assent and appeals interiorly to the superior authority of the universal Church.
Very Catholic.
Then, we have this:
![]() |
| Madness. Sheer lunacy! |
NOT Catholic at all; very, VERY protestant.
So we have Rome at once engaging in "two and two is four; two and two is not four..."
Within this context of spiritual schizophrenia, we then have the abomination of Traditionis Custodes, that seems to be the preoccupation of various and sundry clerics. As of this writing, Rome's seeming concern in 2026 is mplementing the monstrous lie that is Traditionis Custodes - viciously and cruely - treating faithful Catholics as spiritual lepers. There is no seeming concern about rooting out the protestant virus that has infected so many churchmen. No, their concern is to stop Catholics from access to the Missale Romanum (1962) and the Rituale Romanum (1957). The ripping apart of Catholic communities - I presume this must be part of Pope Francis' vision to "repair" Christ's Church? Heresy may abound, but the anicent rites must be supressed. So far, his successor, Pope Leo has seen fit to continue this "repair". Roche and other Francis appointed henchmen remain in their posts.
I ask: can we hear the Voice of "Christ the Good Shepherd" in Traditionis Custodes? Or, is there another "voice" that we hear? One that is NOT in accord with the inseperability of Sacred Tradition, Sacred Scriptures and the Magisterium of the Church (c.f. Dei Verbum 2, 10)?
Why do I bring up Dei Verbum? Because Francis and his henchman, Arthur Roche both claim that Traditionis Custodes is in keeping with the Magisterium and Tradition. And because Francis and his henchmen claimed they were and are following the second Vatican Council. However, as noted in Dei Verbum, the Magisterium is at one with Sacred Tradition and Sacred Scriptures - where they cannot be separated from each other. If one reads Roche's January 6-7 "Report", he twists the words of Pius V when quoting the sainty Pope on "...one rite for celebrating Mass...". Roche conveniently forgot the Pope permitting all Latin rite liturgies of 200 years and older continued life within the Latin churches. Not to mention the innumerable eastern rites that the holy Pope knew were untouchable.
Roche also twists the text from Sacrosanctum Concilium. Referencing SC 23, Roche conveniently forgot the following:"there must be no innovations unless the good of the Church genuinely and certainly requires them".
Is it for the GOOD of the Church that Traditionis Custodes was introduced? Does the Church "genuinely" and "certainly" require it? And to add to this perversion of Sacrosanctum Concilium, Traditionis Custodes was also founded upon a huge, MONSTROUS LIE - that the bishops of the world demanded it. But even if they did - what of it? Holy and venerable rites are part of the Church's sppritual patrimony, a gift of the Holy Spirit to be be cared for with loving devotion. Not suppressed like some contagious disease!
