A Blessed Feast of St. Joseph to our Canadian Readers

May the holy Patriarch, St Joseph, on this, his Feast Day bless you.

May all Canadian readers intensify their prayers to the Patron of Canada, that he, through his intercession before his foster-Son and his ever-Virgin Spouse, bring Canada to repentance, conversion and healing.

The Catholic Register removes article on Roisca plagiarism: WHY?

In the past few weeks it has become quite well known that the prominent American-Canadian priest, Fr. Thomas Rosica C.S.B., presently the CEO of Salt and Light, Vatican English language Spokesman, and media contact for the Basilian's scandal ridden, St. Michael's College School, has been engaging in habitual plagiarism, seemingly dating back at least 30 years.

Rosica was originally exposed as a plagiarizer in 2015 on Vox Cantoris.

And who can forget "Chalicegate"? Why is this important? Because it shows contempt for the truth.

Until a few hours ago, the Archdiocese of Toronto's official newspaper, "The Catholic Register", carried the following article from Catholic News Agency. The article included the following revelation about Rosica:
In recent weeks, the priest has come under fire amid revelations of extensive plagiarism in his published articles, books, and speeches.

However, the article has now been removed from The Catholic Register's website. Why?

I will say this: any academic, or journalist caught in the type of plagiarism that Rosica has engaged in, would be dismissed. In fact, far, far lesser acts of plagiarism would entail dismissal. A student caught, would, at minimum, be failed, or expelled.

In academia, even to indirectly reference oneself, necessitates a reference to the original source. Not to do so, constitutes plagiarism. Universities still take cheating very seriously. Evidently, there are those occupying powerful positions in the Catholic Church who do not. This is a very, very grave issue.

It reflects a complete contempt for truth, encased in the most horrible manifestation of clericalism.

For the latest updates as further plagiarism is being exposed on a regular basis, readers should follow the Twitter Feeds of American philosophy Professor, Josh Hochschild, and Mathew Adam Block of the Canadian Lutheran magazine.

Josh Hohschild@JoshHochschild

Mathew Adam Block @mathewablock

I had hoped not to blog about this issue. Unfortunately, Fr. Rosica, and those who seem to be enabling him, continue to make it an issue. A very serious issue. Truth is being bandied about, mocked. No, truth is very, very important.

Adultery and Homosexuality: Are they no longer sins?

Sandro Magister, carries a report that since at least 2014, the Roman authorities have been seeking to undermine the 6th and 9th Commandments, especially in downgrading, obfuscating the intrinsic evils of adultery and homosexuality.

This is all being done in changing "pastoral" practice, whilst, at least officially, leaving doctrine untouched.

At least four years ago, Vox Cantoris put Catholics on the alert by re-publishing the words of Richard R. Gaillardetz, who had laid out the strategy. Words, which, during his investigations, The Vox discovered had been plagiarized by Thomas Rosica.

Here, Gaillardetz, outlines the strategy that has been used since to 2014 Synod in undermining Catholic morality:

"Will this Pope re-write controversial Church doctrines? No. But that isn't how doctrine changes. Doctrine changes when pastoral contexts shift and new insights emerge such that particularly doctrinal formulations no longer mediate the saving message of God's transforming love. Doctrine changes when the Church has leaders and teachers who are not afraid to take note of new contexts and emerging insights. It changes when the Church has pastors who do what Francis has been insisting: leave the securities of your chanceries, of your rectories, of your safe places, of your episcopal residences go set aside the small minded rules that often keep you locked up and shielded from the world."

From Magister:

It is a fact, not an opinion. The words “adultery” and “homosexuality” have both disappeared from the magisterium of the Church, the highest, that which reports to the Roman pontiff.

About the first word this was already known. It disappeared completely just when it would have been most natural to say it, at the two synods on the family and shortly afterward, when Pope Francis settled the accounts in the exhortation “Amoris Laetitia.”
While the disappearance of the second is more recent. And this too happened right at the moment in which it seemed impossible not to say it: at the February 21-24 summit at the Vatican on sexual abuse committed by priests and bishops, almost all of it against the young and very young of the same sex.

“It is known that when one wishes to marginalize or eliminate some truth, there is no need to contradict it openly; on the contrary, this would be the worst strategy, because it would prompt open reactions and draw attention. Much better, instead, to pass over it in silence, not talk about it anymore, to lock it up with the old junk in the attic or the basement, and over the span of some time all memory of it will be lost, and life will go on as if it were no longer there.”

This observation was made by Dom Giulio Meiattini, a Benedictine monk of the abbey of the Madonna della Scala in Noci, professor of theology at the Pontifical Atheneum of St. Anselm in Rome, in the preface to the second edition of his book Amoris laetitia? The sacraments reduced to morality.

The preface can be read in its entirety on the blog of Aldo Maria Valli. But it is enough here to sample the passages most focused on the banning of these two words.

BREAKING: St. Michael's College School publishes photo of "gay rainbow flag" on school website!

St. Michael's College School at Bathurst and St. Clair in Toronto has "gone gay".

The days when we received a copy of Humanae Vitae and were taught that contraception was intrinsically evil are long gone. These days, so it was reported, "progressive priests" (Basilians) are speaking with the boys about homosexuality. Following the homosexual gang-rape scandal, the school is now even considering "re-educating" the boys about "homophobia".

St. Mike's is clearly on a trajectory that is no longer Catholic. The results are all to clear. It is a spiritual disaster.

Let us review what St. Mike's has been up to over the past few days:

The school (embroiled in a homosexual gang-rape scandal) has published a photo of the homosexual "liberation" so-called "Rainbow" flag on its Twitter feed. (then, it was taken down, but not before screenshots were taken). The photo in question has the "gay flag" up in a classroom. And this, published by a so-called "Catholic" school, all over social media. Going, going, gone gay.

I shall leave that up to our readers to decide if the sounds of "hoikety choik..." will eventually be a thing of the past.

BREAKING: St. Michael's College School in Toronto officially goes LGBT

What is the homosexual  "rainbow" flag doing in a St. Mike's classroom?

(Update: now, we are told the school merely reproduced a photo from another school. As if this answers the question as to what a Catholic school is doing pushing pro-"LGBT" propaganda).

St. Michael's College School, the once venerable Catholic institution, founded in 1852, has surrendered to the homosexual and gender ideologists. The above screenshot, taken from Twitter, was sent to me by a fellow alumnus last night. Irenaeus, has since sent me screenshots of the promotion of homosexuality on St. Mike's Instagram account.

Catholics need to ask the Basilians, who run this school, why St. Mike's supports homosexual activity, when Sacred Scripture, Tradition and the Church condemn homosexual acts as always gravely sinful?

We need to ask the Basilians: what signal are you sending boys and young men, especially in an ALL MALE environment, when you endorse homosexuality?

We need to ask these Basilians: do you self-identify as homosexual? Do you dissent (as evidently you do) from Catholic teaching? Yes, these are tough, but necessary questions. Just who is running the school? Just what influence does big money have on the direction of St. Mike's?

From the Catechism of the Catholic Church:

2357: ... Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that "homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered." They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.

To those suffering from same-sex attraction, the answer is not an encouragement to sin, but rather, to virtue, to holiness: The late Monsignor Foy wrote:
All can pray for homosexuals; we should never deviate from charity towards them while never condoning homosexual activity. We can give homosexuals the example of lives lived in chastity and goodness.

To all homosexuals we say: Peace, Hope, and Joy in your daily pursuit of chastity and holiness. God be with you! May you always keep in your hearts the words of St. Paul, “You are not called to immorality but to holiness".

Friends, we need to contact His Eminence Thomas Cardinal Collins to wrest this school away from these dissenters. It will be tough, perhaps impossible.

We remember that it was the Basilian priest, Fr. Thomas Rosica, who led the charge against Dr. David Mulroney, during the time when His Eminence wanted to reform St. Michael's College, University of Toronto, from its increasingly secular, anti-Catholic academic stance, and decadent student life, respectively. Sadly, Rosica and his allies torpedoed the Cardinal's efforts. It is the same, (now disgraced) priest who was selected by the Basilians as their spokesman for the homosexual gang-rape scandal that broke last Fall at the school. The school has been decadent for years.

Let us expose this grave evil at St. Mike's. Catholic parents wake up! You are being lied to and fooled by dissenting priests who have betrayed Christ, the Church, and the saintly Basilian fathers of old. Priests such as Fr. Volpe, Fr. Enright, Fr. Foy and Fr. Thompson.

Memento mori

"Memento, homo, quia pulvis es, et in pulverem reverteris."

These are the words the priest utters when he puts the ashes on the top of our head (for men) or on our forehead (for women) before or after Mass on Ash Wednesday.

"Remember, man, that thou art dust, and unto dust thou shalt return."

These are the words of Genesis 3.

May we remember them as we enter this Season of Penance.

The Catholic Church has always denounced the scourge of Liberalism

Pope Leo XIII - the Scourge of Liberalism

Ever since the rise of Freemasonry in 1717, and its revolutionary outbreaks in 1776, 1789... and onwards into the revolutions of the 1800s; to the Masonic revolutions in central and south America... the Catholic Church has always waged war against the Masonic spirit.

It is hard for us Catholics to understand the danger of liberalism, given we breath it 24/7. It surrounds us. Yet, we must eradicate its spirit from our lives, and inoculate ourselves against its seductive poison. This can only be done with prayer and study of the Popes. Any nation that does not have Jesus Christ as King, is a nation that has gone wrong, and is, objectively speaking, in the camp of Satan.

Leo XIII denounced Masonic "liberty":

From Inscrutabili:

6. Furthermore, that kind of civilization which conflicts with the doctrines and laws of holy Church is nothing but a worthless imitation and meaningless name. Of this those peoples on whom the Gospel light has never shown afford ample proof, since in their mode of life a shadowy semblance only of civilization is discoverable, while its true and solid blessings have never been possessed. Undoubtedly, that cannot by any means be accounted the perfection of civilized life which sets all legitimate authority boldly at defiance; nor can that be regarded as liberty which, shamefully and by the vilest means, spreading false principles, and freely indulging the sensual gratification of lustful desires, claims impunity for all crime and misdemeanor, and thwarts the goodly influence of the worthiest citizens of whatsoever class. Delusive, perverse, and misleading as are these principles, they cannot possibly have any inherent power to perfect the human race and fill it with blessing, for "sin maketh nations miserable." Such principles, as a matter of course, must hurry nations, corrupted in mind and heart, into every kind of infamy, weaken all right order, and thus, sooner or later, bring the standing and peace of the State to the very brink of ruin.

It was no different under Pius XI:

From Quas Primas:

It would be a grave error, on the other hand, to say that Christ has no authority whatever in civil affairs, since, by virtue of the absolute empire over all creatures committed to him by the Father, all things are in his power... If We ordain that the whole Catholic world shall revere Christ as King, We shall minister to the need of the present day, and at the same time provide an excellent remedy for the plague which now infects society. We refer to the plague of anti-clericalism, its errors and impious activities. This evil spirit, as you are well aware, Venerable Brethren, has not come into being in one day; it has long lurked beneath the surface. The empire of Christ over all nations was rejected. The right which the Church has from Christ himself, to teach mankind, to make laws, to govern peoples in all that pertains to their eternal salvation, that right was denied. Then gradually the religion of Christ came to be likened to false religions and to be placed ignominiously on the same level with them.
