Ave Maris Stella

As a boy of five, attending evening Benediction with my parents and siblings, I remember the prayers to our Lady.
As an altar boy at the Latin Mass, I also recited the prayers to the Holy Mother, which were in every Catholic missal.

*Hail, Star of the sea* always remained in my mind, for it was one of the Virgin Mother's titles, during recitative prayers at Benediction.
And I think the same words are sung in the beautiful hymn, *Hail, Queen of Heaven*

Just tonight I read that Ave Maris Stella is the anthem of the francophone community in the Canadian Maritimes, which I hope to visit.

Michael Voris' latest vlog reminds us that devotion to Mary stopped the Reformation from spreading to Latin America. Miracles were attributed to our Lady's intercession.

This is one of the most solemn talks I have heard Michael give, for it is about the Four Last Things.
If only every priest, bishop and cardinal gave homilies like this, the Western world would be be won back to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Although I am in good health, I am very aware that at the age of 68, I am in the departures lounge. Some of my school contemporaries have already entered eternity.

Death, Judgment, Heaven and Hell.

The Lord knows the secrets of men's hearts (Psalm 44:21) and their secret faults (Psalm 19:12). Darkness does not hide us, nor can we flee to a place where God is not present (Psalm 139).
God judges according to truth (Romans 2:2).

Jesus speaks about those who will be beaten with few stripes, as against those who sin against the light, who will be beaten with many stripes (Luke 12:47, 48).

This will apply to deceitful priests and heretical members of the hierarchy, including Pope Francis, who deceive the sheep concerning sin and judgment. They will be beaten by many stripes, because they cannot claim diminished responsibility.

Hell is revealed in teaching in order to warn men and women.

We are warned about the wrath to come and told to flee it (Matthew 3:7).
We are told there will be no escape if we neglect so great a salvation (Hebrews 2:3).

Many that are first will be last, and the last first.
Those with faith in Christ alone will be delivered (Luke 13:23-30).
As for the unregenerate, *Fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.* Matthew 25:46

*And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.* Matthew 25: 46.
