BREAKING NEWS: Motherwell's Bishop Joseph Devine's resignation is accepted

Rome has accepted Joseph Devine's resignation. The Catholic Herald carries the full report. I thank God that this man is no longer is in charge of the diocese that I grew up in. We can thank Pope Francis for intervening in Scotland to begin the process of taking charge of a situation that is rife with corruption. I carry many, many fond memories of blessed events in Motherwell. Serving Mass for Canon Taylor is one experience that I will never forget. The holy Canon would be horrified by the moral degeneracy amongst the priesthood - and even more so by the cover-ups, denial and lies.

Obviously, Motherwell will be sede vacante for a while, as Rome on direct orders from Pope Francis, begins its investigations into the homosexualist sub-culture amongst priests, as well as very grave allegations of rape committed at the Shrine of Carfin. As I have written earlier, and repeat here again: Witness will not be silent on the issue of moral corruption amongst the clergy. Please pray for Scotland. Please pray for brave priests, like Fr. Matthew Despard.

Anglican Bishop speaks out on failure to stop advance of Secularism and Islamism

A leading British Anglican prelate, the Rt. Rev  Michael Nazir-Ali has denounced the cowardly capitulation of the Church of England to secularism, giving rise to a vacuum, which allows Islamism to fill the void. As I wrote earlier, the problem is us.

This too, sadly, applies to the Catholic Church. At least in the "advanced" West. Take the Archdiocese of Toronto: out of all the possible serious moral concerns in the Church and Society that  H.E. Collins could choose for a Pastoral letter, he chose the insipid and "safe" topic of denouncing a potential casino in Toronto. Forget a Pastoral Letter on the Real Presence, the Mass, or serious moral failings in society and amongst the laity such as: abortion, contraception, widespread dissent on sexual morality; or massive moral decline in our Catholic schools (e.g GSAs in "Catholic" schools, retreats for parents led by a homosexualist psychotherapist etc.); or the continued erosion of the Catholic character of our hospitals., etc.

We are in serious moral decline and our bishops are silent. Bishops are to be watchmen for the Faith. Well, where are they? The Pastoral Plan should not be one of trying to raise $190,000,000 from the laity, but to bring the Faith alive through catechesis.

Pope Francis did pray over a demonically possessed man

Contrary to earlier denials, La Stampa reports that the Holy Father did indeed pray over a man possessed by demons. The full report is a fascinating read on the power of darkness, and how God uses evil for good. Fr. Gabriel Amorth reports that the possession is linked to a warning to the Mexican bishops and abortion. The possessed man may be regarded as a "victim soul".

When Pope Francis laid his hands on a young man in a wheel chair, in St Peter’s Square, at the end of mass on Pentecost Sunday, May 19, many people at first thought he had actually carried out an exorcism.  The Vatican flatly denied that, however, and said the pope had simply prayed over the man.  The priest who accompanied the man also confirmed this.

But one thing is certain, the man claims to be possessed by demons, and says he has been tormented in this state for the past 14 years. He revealed this May 22, in an exclusive interview in Rome with Irene Hernandez Velasco, the correspondent of the Spanish daily, El Mundo.

The man, Angel V., a 43 year-old Mexican from the state of Michoacán, is married with two young children, said some ten exorcists, included the renowned Roman exorcist – Father Gabriel Amorth,  have tried but failed to liberate him from his terrible predicament.

Father Juan Rivas, who accompanied Angel to Rome and was with him when he met the Pope, confirmed all this when he spoke to El Mundo.  He revealed that when the Pope met Angel, he told him, “Holiness, this person needs a blessing, he has had more than 30 exorcisms and the demons that live in him do not want to leave him.”

Fr Rivas, a member of the Legionaries of Christ, described what happened that Sunday. He said: “The Pope greeted Angel, and he kissed the pontiff’s ring and in that instant fell into a trance. The Pope then laid his hands on his head and at that moment a terrible sound was heard (from him), like the roar of a lion. All those who were there heard it perfectly well. The Pope for sure heard it, and his bodyguards heard it as did a child who was at our side. But in spite of this horrific roar the Pope did not let himself be moved; he continued with his prayer, as if he had faced similar situations before.”

The Mother of All Churches to be Returned to Active Use

But isn't it already? I mean isn't St. Peter's the mother church? Sorry to disappoint but it isn't. Well, what about St. John Lateran? No, not even that one, although it is the Pope's cathedral church as Bishop of Rome. No, the first church, the one in which mass was first celebrated, the one in which the apostles received the Holy Spirit and which continued to be in regular use until the fall of Jerusalem was a far more humble structure. It was a room on the upper floor of a synagogue known as the Church of the Apostles or simply the Cenacle.

The Cenacle
The Vatican has just made an agreement with the Israeli government to permit the celebration of mass in the Cenacle as part of an ongoing negotiation about christian sites in the holy land. Under this agreement the site will remain the property of the State of Israel but its use for liturgical purposes will be resumed. Thus the birthplace of the Church will remain what it has always been, a borrowed room on the upper floor of a synagogue.  Somehow this seems quite appropriate.

"Go into the city, and a man carrying a jar of water will meet you; follow him, and wherever he enters, say to the householder, 'The Teacher says, Where is my guest room, where I am to eat the passover with my disciples? And he will show you a large upper room furnished and ready, there prepare for us."    Mk 14: 13-15

Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a sabbath day's journey away; and when they had entered, they went up to the upper room where they were staying. Peter and John and James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholemew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot and Judas the son of James. All these with one accord devoted themselves to prayer together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers.   Acts 1:13

BREAKING NEWS: The alleged Carfin Grotto rapist flees to Ireland

As I reported a few weeks ago, the Diocese of Motherwell - through Bishop Joseph Devine - dismissed in a rude, insensitive and off-hand manner the very grave allegations (being actively investigated by the police) of homosexual abuse of Pat McEwan at the holy Carfin Shrine.

Moving, or allowing a priest to move who is an abuser, or alleged abuser, reminds me of the grossly immoral behaviour of Roger Mahoney when he allowed an abuser priest to flee to Mexico. It is time to take account of these Judas priests and Judas bishops.

No more can cover-up, silence, further denigrating and abusing the victims can be allowed. The Scottish Hierarchy still does not get it: the violation of celibacy is a grave mortal sin. The unnatural violation of celibacy is a sin that cries to heaven for vengeance. The unnatural abuse of youth is an even more horrendous crime! To keep in active ministry those priests who have committed perverted sexual acts is an abomination. To move a priest who is being actively investigated by the police for unnatural sexual abuse is sickening.

May the great and holy Canon Taylor intercede for the church in Scotland, that she be purged of this terrible infestation of moral degenerates. Thank God, at least Rome is taking these allegations so seriously, that Pope Francis will not be allowing any further consecration of bishops.

From the Daily Record

The clergyman moved back to his native Ireland. Police have started an investigation but have not questioned him.

Catholic Church officials claimed the priest’s move was pre-planned and had nothing to do with the claims.

The clergyman, who is in his 80s, has been accused of being part of a ring of paedophile priests who abused Pat McEwan as a boy more than 50 years ago.

Pat, now 63, claimed the priests molested him many times.

He alleged one priest raped him near the holy shrine of Carfin Grotto in Motherwell.

Police Scotland confirmed they are still investigating the claims.

BREAKING NEWS: Why is Amazon censoring Fr. Matthew Despard's book?

Fr. Matthew Despard
Claiming that Fr. Matthew Despard's book, "Priesthood in Crisis" violates company policy, Amazon has pulled the best-seller. No specific reason was given. The unnamed source within the Scottish hierarchy claiming the book was potentially libelous is merely a ruse to perpetuate a culture of silence and cover-up. We have seen the recent treatment of victims of monstrous perverted sexual abuse - and it is sickening! As such, a smear campaign against Fr. Despard is logical. Indeed, this act of censorship is a totally expected action from those wishing to continue the coverup of the "gay mafia" in the Scottish priesthood, the sexual bullying etc.etc.

We believe in openness. Publish the book! Debate the issue. Rome takes him seriously; evidently Amazon and the Scottish hierarchy are listening to, and being influenced by other forces.

From the Sunday Mail:

WHISTLE-BLOWING churchman’s best-selling book featuring explosive claims about gay bullies in the Catholic priesthood has been pulled by web giants Amazon.

Priesthood in Crisis by Father Matthew Despard was released in the wake of the Cardinal Keith O’Brien scandal.

The shocking account – which accuses church leaders of covering up powerful homosexual cliques in the priesthood – became an online bestseller, charting at No.125 out of 1.9 million digital books available on Amazon.

But the controversial book has been axed from the website’s Kindle store.

Amazon say it is no longer available because it does not adhere to their guidelines.

Sources in the Catholic Church have suggested that Father Despard could face legal action from one of the subjects named in his self-published book.

One claimed: “Father Despard makes allegations about a lot of named people and some of them aren’t prepared to accept their name being tarnished.”

Amazon said: “This book is not available on Amazon.co.uk. All titles must adhere to our content guidelines.”

Prohibited content for the site include pornography, offensive material, stolen goods and items that infringe upon a person’s privacy.

Father Despard said: “I noticed it was no longer for sale on Amazon and have been in touch to ask them why. I am awaiting their response and I don’t know anything more about it.”

Drummer Lee Rigby ~ Requiescat in pace

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Drummer Lee Rigby

Tarek Fatah exposes the evil of Islamic Jihad

When buses and trains exploded on 7/7 in London, the objective of the suicide bombers was to sow fear and terror in the very soul of the British people.

In that the jihadis were successful.

One would have expected the British authorities to not just hunt down the terrorists, but also to fight the cancer of Islamism that lies at the ideological roots of jihadi terrorism. Instead, successive governments in London have tried to pussyfoot around the challenge, hoping the jihadi terrorists and their ideology would melt away with time as Downing Street funded so-called "moderate" Muslim groups and "former" extremists to do the government's bidding.

As the brutal hacking death of a British soldier by two fearless jihadis chanting "Allah O Akbar" has shown, this strategy has failed. Muslims who see the West as the enemy and seek its destruction have become even more emboldened by the lack of resolve, which they see as cowardice. In addition, jihadis in the U.K. are no longer restricted to the second generation Pakistani Britons; they now come from places as far apart as Chechnya and Nigeria.

While the run-of-the-mill jihadi terror attack relies on suicide bombers and remote-controlled improvised explosive devices, Wednesday's attack came straight from medieval times, with the two jihadis using knives and cleavers to hack away at the victim and then beheading him. If this was not enough, they played to the gallery, demanding they be filmed as they chatted with passers-by, proudly defending their actions and promising more attacks on non-Muslims to come.

If the latest act of jihadi terror was different in nature, the reaction by mainstream Islamic groups and prominent Muslims in Britain was not. It was exactly the same as it has been after every tragic incident. Old press releases were brushed off and sent afresh to the media.

While ordinary Britons and non-Muslims around the world are bewildered by these never-ending acts of terrorism, the response of the leaders of the Islamic community is the tired old cliche -- Islam is a religion of peace, and jihad is simply an "inner struggle."

The fact these terrorists are motivated by one powerful belief -- the doctrine of armed jihad against the "kuffar" (non-Muslims) -- is disingenuously denied by Islamic clerics and leaders.
