  1. It is heartening to read about Fr. Pearson and the Toronto Oratory. If not for Toronto Catholic Witness, I would have left this world without knowing about the Oratory and its great work. Thanks.

I think I told you before of a good friend, Linda Gardiner, who converted from Anglicanism in her early 20s, and who came under the spiritual guidance of the Oratory in Birmingham, England. This was after 1945. For years her family kept aloof, then her parents and brothers converted. We spoke often of Cardinal Manning and Cardinal Newman. I felt close to the Lord in her presence. R.I.P.

  2. Actually he was a convert from being formerly Mennonite.

  4. Yes, he is a convert. I believe it to be an inspired choice, of God and St. Philip.

We believe in a good argument. That means NO ad hominem attacks. This also includes Pope Francis. Further, referring to him by any other name, may or may not indicate a schismatic attitude, and given the confusion in the Church your comment will NOT be published. Comments are those of the commentators and not those of this blog. You may use a pseudonym... we do... Behave like a guest in our living room and you will be fine.
