Assad of Syria is NOT our Enemy!

Dear friends, do not be fooled  by the liars in the West who would wish the destruction of Syria, especially the destruction of the 2000 year old Christian communities in that country. Please pray for Syria.

This man is a tyrant? The Catholics and Orthodox of Syria do not think so

Basher el-Assad and Family

  1. I am not that sure... What kind of leader is killing his own people? His father killed around 250,000 Syrians and he already past a mark of 500,000 brutally killed. I am acutely aware that he protects Christians in Syria, but we have to face the truth, that he is no better than other corrupt and power hungry leaders of the Middle East.

  2. By your logic, Obama is a nice guy if one can post cute pictures of his family.

  3. Agreed...these pics show him as a lovely family man but we must not mistake him as a good guy.

Here is some commentary that holds some sanity:

  5. Who are our enemies? In 1947 the OSS merged with the Gestapo and the Mafia to form the CIA... to fight communism. Sounded like a good idea at the time. The communists unraveled like a cheap sweater. The CIA hasn't gone into retirement, apparently.

  6. I have concluded it is impossible to know who is wearing the black hat or who is wearing the white hat in this. Impossible. I ask God to help them and leave it up to Him. Governments are formed by people we put into office and have to trust they know something more than we know. This world is impossible to keep up with.

  7. Barona, Al-Asad maintains power via violence. Al-Asad traffics in war, brutality, torture, and intimidation.

Al-Asad's ways are not God's ways. Al-Asad's ways are Satan's ways. That is why Al-Asad is not a true friend to Christians. Syria, under Al-Asad's brutal ways, will remain devoid of authentic peace.

Barona, just between the years 2011 A.D. and 2013 A.D., at least 450,000 Christians were forced from Syria. So much for al-Asad's supposed role as "protector" of Christians.

    https://www.rt.com/news/syrian-christians-patriarch-stay-079/

"As some 450,000 Christians have fled Syria since a civil war erupted two years ago, the Syrian Patriarch of the Melkite Greek Catholic church has called on Christians to stay in Syria and survive a “difficult” future.

-- Since 2011 A.D., overall, nearly 5,000,000 people have fled Syria and nearly 7,000,000 have fled their villages and are scattered about Syria.

-- Turkey has received 2,724,937 registered Syrian refugees.

    -- Lebanon: 1,500,000.

    -- Jordan, 1,265,000.

    -- Germany, 600,000.

    -- Greece, 496,119.

al-Asad, alongside his billionaire cousin, is tied to massive money schemes.

-- al-Asad literally permitted DAESH (ISIL) to grow.

-- He refused to bomb DAESH camps.

-- He released key DAESH members from prisons.

-- al-Asad permitted DAESH to trample Christians.

-- al-Asad permitted DAESH to drive hundreds of thousands of Christians from Syria.

  8. Barona, al-Asad's ways are Satan's ways. Al-Asad's ways are the ways of violence, intimidation, torture...in short, al-Asad traffics in death.

Al-Asad is part of the Culture of Death.

Barona, the following is the only way that authentic peace will come to Syria:

Pope Francis, September 7, 2013 A.D., Vigil of prayer and fasting for peace in Syria:

"Is it possible to walk the path of peace? Can we get out of this spiral of sorrow and death? Can we learn once again to walk and live in the ways of peace?

"Invoking the help of God, under the maternal gaze of the Salus Populi Romani, Queen of Peace, I say: Yes, it is possible for everyone!

"From every corner of the world tonight, I would like to hear us cry out: Yes, it is possible for everyone! Or even better, I would like for each one of us, from the least to the greatest, including those called to govern nations, to respond: Yes, we want it!

"My Christian faith urges me to look to the Cross. How I wish that all men and women of good will would look to the Cross if only for a moment! There, we can see God’s reply: violence is not answered with violence, death is not answered with the language of death.

"In the silence of the Cross, the uproar of weapons ceases and the language of reconciliation, forgiveness, dialogue, and peace is spoken.

"Look upon your brother’s sorrow – I think of the children: look upon these… look at the sorrow of your brother, stay your hand and do not add to it, rebuild the harmony that has been shattered; and all this achieved not by conflict but by encounter! May the noise of weapons cease!"

    Pax.

  9. Hello, Barona. Peace to you and your family. My brother in Jesus Christ, I offer the following as the only true way to achieve peace in Syria:

From His Holiness Pope Francis, September 7, 2013 A.D., Vigil of prayer and fasting for peace in Syria:

May the noise of weapons cease!"

al-Asad will not bring peace to Syria as his ways are the ways of the Culture of Death. That is, al-Asad traffics in torture, intimidation, brutality, and death.

Instead, as His Holiness Pope Francis offered to us, the Cross — to Jesus Christ through the Blessed Virgin Mary (Salus Populi Romani...Queen of Peace) — is the only way to establish authentic peace in Syria.

Unlike al-Asad, Jesus Christ's ways (as well as the Blessed Virgin Mary's ways) are the ways of the Culture of Life. Jesus' ways will establish authentic peace in Syria and beyond.

Let us opt for the ways of Jesus and His Holy Mother (our Salus Populi Romani...the Queen of Peace).

Barona, thank you for the privilege to post comments to your important blog.

    Pax.

  10. The West is not going to solve Syria's problems.
Our countries are imploding & falling apart. We can't take care of our own countries yet we want to solve Syria's problems?
Look at the massive costly screw up operations in Iraq,Afghanistan,Libya,etc..
No logically thinking, sane individual, can call those disasters "successful".
On top of all these facts,an escalation in Syria means the Western powers have an excuse to flood former White Catholic majority nations with Arab Muslim "refugees".

We believe in a good argument. That means NO ad hominem attacks. This also includes Pope Francis. Further, referring to him by any other name, may or may not indicate a schismatic attitude, and given the confusion in the Church your comment will NOT be published. Comments are those of the commentators and not those of this blog. You may use a pseudonym... we do... Behave like a guest in our living room and you will be fine.
