Did Francis just insult all the previous Popes in his "Year of Mercy" Sermon? ~ Yes, he did!

The environment is "no longer oprtional...it is now an oblication..." 

Pope Francis was very unmerciful inaugurating his Holy Year of Mercy. From the Homily delivered by the Pope for the beginning of the Year of Mercy, (just prior to the blasphemous and shameful "Vatican Horror Show", orchestrated by anti-life globalists) the Pope delivered a very unmerciful assessment  of the previous Popes; in fact a condemnation: the Church emerges "from the shoals...." Francis,  with one sentence - the entire Magisterium and pastoral action of the previous Popes is swept arrogantly to one side. 

Spoke Francis: 

This anniversary cannot be remembered only for the legacy of the Council’s documents, which testify to a great advance in faith. Before all else, the Council was an encounter. A genuine encounter between the Church and the men and women of our time. An encounter marked by the power of the Spirit, who impelled the Church to emerge from the shoals which for years had kept her self-enclosed so as to set out once again, with enthusiasm, on her missionary journey. It was the resumption of a journey of encountering people where they live: in their cities and homes, in their workplaces. Wherever there are people, the Church is called to reach out to them and to bring the joy of the Gospel.

There you have it! They were wrong. These Popes did not want to encounter people in their cities, homes, workplaces. One wonders if Francis has ever read anything these Popes wrote? I wonder if Francis even wrote his sermon. Given his poor, confused 1970s education, I somehow doubt a man who does not know Latin, uses minimal Latin in his liturgies, inserted a Latin reference  to St. Augustine. No, we can suspect that perhaps Papal guru, Antonio Spadaro SJ, Papal Preacher Cantalamessa, or the sinister heresiarch Cardinal Baldissiri had a hand in its composition. 

Was Pius XII wrong when he denounced secularism in all its repulsiveness in 1957 in Le Pelerinage a Lourdes? Let us read what the holy Pope warned us about: 

But the world, which today affords so many justifiable reasons for pride and hope, is also undergoing a terrible temptation to materialism which has been denounced by Our Predecessors and Ourselves on many occasions.

This materialism is not confined to that condemned philosophy which dictates the policies and economy of a large segment of mankind. It rages also in a love of money which creates ever greater havoc as modern enterprises expand, and which, unfortunately, determines many of the decisions which weigh heavy on the life of the people.

It finds expression in the cult of the body, in excessive desire for comforts, and in flight from all the austerities of life. It encourages scorn for human life, even for life which is destroyed before seeing the light of day.

This materialism is present in the unrestrained search for pleasure, which flaunts itself shamelessly and tries, through reading matter and entertainments, to seduce souls which are still pure. It shows itself in lack of interest in one's brother, in selfishness which crushes him, in justice which deprives him of his rights -- in a word, in that concept of life which regulates everything exclusively in terms of material prosperity and earthly satisfactions.

"And I will say to my soul. The rich man said, Soul, thou hast many good things laid up for many years; take thy ease, eat, drink, be merry. But God said to him, Thou fool, this night do they demand thy soul of thee". 

But Pius XII was wrong! He must have been, Francis just told us so! Likewise Pius XI was wrong when he excoriated secular authority in Quas Primas for ignoring Our Lord in public life. St. Pius X too was wrong: his condemnation of the sewer of all heresies, Modernism, in Pascendi, only "enclosed" the Church. Leo XIII was wrong with his denouncement of Freemasonry in Humanum Genus and false liberty in Libertas, Immortale Dei etc. Pius IX was wrong for issuing Quanta Cura and his binding Syllabus of Errors. Do I need to go back to the great Gregory XVI and Mirari Vos? No doubt he too kept the Church in the "shoals" keeping Her from emerging for a "genuine encounter" with the "men and women of our time". Only in the past few decades have we begun to live the "gospel" and reach out to "men and women of our times", all the while committing the "silent apostasy" of which Pope John Paul II spoke of shortly before he died.
