Fr. Nicholson touches on something not frequently admitted -- the hollowness of the pre-Vatican II Church. Children perceived their commodification very keenly and greatly distrusted the culture of the time. The sexual revolution was an imposition on the youth by their predatory elders and not their invention as commonly portrayed. The cultural collapse was initiated in the 20s and 30s, not the 60s.
