Canada's Supreme Court is suffering from a collective sickness of the mind

Today we have word that the Supreme Court of Canada intends on introducing another horror into this country: euthanasia. Contraception, abortion, homo "unions", and now euthanasia. All monstrous evils that should come as no surprise in a country deeply infected with liberalism. For further information, and to sign a petition to oppose this new evil, please visit Vox Cantoris.

Liberalism really is a form of mental illness. It is a refusal to accept reality. Liberals prefer fantasy, a dream, rather than Catholic reality. Liberalism is premised on blasphemy, the blasphemy of religious liberty. It may sound nice that we  all "want to get along". Yet what this means in a practical way is that for man's highest organizational form, the State, it does not matter if Jesus Christ is God or not God, if the Catholic religion is the one, true religion. It doesn't matter. Truth does not matter.

From this rejection of Truth, leads to rejection of morality, and the fountainhead of morality, Our Lord Jesus Christ. One religion is as good as another, meaning, for liberalism, none are of any importance. Hence, the endless clamor for contraception and abortion.

For the Catholic, reality is Our Lord Jesus Christ. Nothing else matters. "The truth will set you free". That is Catholic doctrine. In other words, freedom is based on truth. For the liberal, truth is based on freedom. The base of a liberal society is liberty (religious liberty - meaning freeing oneself from the Ten Commandments), "truth" is merely subjective feelings.

The Church has long denounced these evils, the moment they appeared.

When all restraints are removed by which men are kept on the narrow path of truth, their nature, which is already inclined to evil, propels them to ruin. Then truly "the bottomless pit" is open from which John saw smoke ascending which obscured the sun, and out of which locusts flew forth to devastate the earth. Thence comes transformation of minds, corruption of youths, contempt of sacred things and holy laws -- in other words, a pestilence more deadly to the state than any other. Experience shows, even from earliest times, that cities renowned for wealth, dominion, and glory perished as a result of this single evil, namely immoderate freedom of opinion, license of free speech, and desire for novelty. (Gregory XVI,  Mirari Vos).

  1. "When all restraints are removed by which men are kept on the narrow path of truth, their nature, which is already inclined to evil, propels them to ruin." So true - I know people who have had more than one abortion; my daughter's mother in law, a lesbian, has been "married" to another woman and has already left her for someone else. I was very disappointed in the decision but not surprised - my experience is that Canadians are so apathetic anything could happen and they would still keep on shopping. Our judiciary and government are disasters. In my province the opposition leader has "evolved" on gay marriage and abortion. Very disheartening!

We believe in a good argument. That means NO ad hominem attacks. This also includes Pope Francis. Further, referring to him by any other name, may or may not indicate a schismatic attitude, and given the confusion in the Church your comment will NOT be published.
