Fascists ban Christian conference in Nanaimo, BC

"The Fascist State is a will to power and to government"
Mussolini

A Conference that included the gentle and innocuous Desmond Tutu was banned in Nanaimo, B.C. by City politicians. The reason: "divisiveness, homophobia, or other expressions of hate..." I have written before about the advance of fascism; it is gaining ground with incredible speed. It is spreading all over Canada, the US, and the EU - alleged bastions of anti-fascism. Fascism is here.
"Fascism, in short, is not only the giver of laws and the founder of institutions, but the educator and promoter of spiritual life. It wants to remake, not the forms of human life, but its content, man, character, faith... The Fascist State, the highest and most powerful form of personality, is a force, but a spiritual force, which takes over all the forms of the moral and intellectual life of man. . . . It is the form, the inner standard and the discipline of the whole person; it saturates the will as well as the intelligence... the Fascist conception of the State is all embracing; outside of it no human or spiritual values can exist, much less have value. Thus understood, Fascism, is totalitarian, and the Fascist State - a synthesis and a unit inclusive of all values - interprets, develops, and potentates the whole life of a people...  (The Doctrine of Fascism, 1932, Mussolini)

On Monday, May 5, in a last minute addition to the agenda of Nanaimo’s Committee of the Whole (Council-COW) meeting, Councillor Pattje put forward a motion which instructed the Management of the VICC (Atlific) not to take, or presumably at this late date to revoke, a booking for the “Beyond You” Leadercast, sponsored by the Nanaimo Daily News and Coastal Communities....

Councillor Pattje’s motion:
It was moved and seconded that the City of Nanaimo advise the VICC that as owners of the facility, any events that are associated with organizations or people that promote or have a history of divisiveness, homophobia, or other expressions of hate...

  1. If this city council had informed themselves of the content of this simulcast they would have thought twice before making the decision they did. In other words, it makes them look like something they should not be proud of. Breaching a contract is also not a smart road to take.

  2. Why would the City Council "think twice"? Are you saying being a fascist is not so bad, as long as long as no one knows? The issue is not looking nice, or breaching contracts: the issue is fascism. This City Council IS fascist.

  3. The issues here are discrimination and censorship. That the city should have the authority to regulate the use of city facilities is entirely legitimate. That they should use that authority in an illegitimate way to censor speakers and discriminate against anyone who goes against the dogma du jour is wrong. However, the ability of the conference organizers and participants to take the city council to court would seem to indicate that Nanaimo is not a facist state just yet. There is an authority above that of any city council.

  4. Correct; as my title points out "fascists" committed this moral crime. Nanaimo reflects the spread of a fascist ideology under the guise of the "new religion"... in 1930s Germany the "new religion" was a certain grotesque heathenism...

A grave concern is that most people do not realize that fascists are usually pleasant sounding people (unless you challenge them), with Cheshire cat smiles. They are not black or brown-shirted men coming up your garden path with handcuffs. Not yet. When that time comes; it will be too late. The present "fascism in white gloves" seeks to induce the population to self-handcuff. Peasants had a certain toughness and common sense. 1930s Italy required some roughness to get the lay folk into line. Nazis required Dachau for "non-conformist" Germans and so on...

The "genius" of the neo-fascist State will be to convince the vast majority of the people that they are living in a democracy, all the while they will be under the darkness of totalitarianism.

  5. I bought a "Happy Birthday Jesus!" cake from Jack Philips of Masterpiece Bakery in Lakewood, Colorado, at Christmas. It was lovely and delicious. But the poor man--a Christian-- has been ordered by some idiot judge to make wedding cakes for same-sex marriages, which are not even legal in Colorado -- yet.

He was also ordered to participate in re-education classes to help him over come his "homophobia." He reacted like I would. He stopped making wedding cakes, and he is ignoring the judge's orders, basically practicing civil disobedience. His business is still prospering because of his loyal customer base. I actually became a customer because of his stand. Did you know Pope John Paul II wrote that if a civil law contradicts natural law, we are obligated to disobey it? I admire people with the courage to do so. God bless you. Susan Fox www.christsfaithfulwitness.com

We believe in a good argument. That means NO ad hominem attacks. This also includes Pope Francis. Further, referring to him by any other name, may or may not indicate a schismatic attitude, and given the confusion in the Church your comment will NOT be published. Comments are those of the commentators and not those of this blog. You may use a pseudonym... we do... Behave like a guest in our living room and you will be fine.
