How exactly does one defend a historical fact? Probably in much the same way one protects the reputation of Pope Pius XII in the face of the disinformation of The Deputy. Once the living memory of the witnesses has passed away, historical facts become more and more flexible and plastic dependent upon the agenda of the ones reporting them. What then are we to do? There is one aspect of this which is not dependent upon any one person's recollection or reliability. He is risen. Notice the verb in that sentence... present tense. This is not essentially some dry historical debate but the proclamation of those who have encountered the risen Christ. It does not depend upon my ability to convince people but on the action of the Holy Spirit in people's lives.

Further, referring to him by any other name, may or may not indicate a schismatic attitude, and given the confusion in the Church your comment will NOT be published.
